I have been rather busy since the school year has started up again, and I find myself shot on time to join the server. In an attempt to communicate with you fantastic individuals, I have turned my attention to the flash chat client. However, much to my dismay, I am having issues connecting to/using the client. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Fair warning: this is a rather lengthy post. I'm looking for feedback from the community about the possible update to MC 1.8, including what options are available to us, and I believe that some background information is required first. This isn't a vote, it's a request for feedback and ideas: any decision I take down the line will be for what I think is the best for the community.

Minecraft 1.8 was released over a week ago. We're currently ...
I was wondering, does everyone like the events I host? I don't want to take up time if no one is enjoying them. So I gotta know if I should plan future ones or not. If you don't like them, please lemme know why. If you do like them, have any suggestions?
I tried running 1.8 and man, I couldn't move. I thought at first it was just taking time to populate the new world, or update an old world to the new 1.8. I finally started messing with the video settings and discovered two things:
1. Turn "Use VBOs" on
2. Turn "Use VSync" off
VBOs preload something (technical jargon here). VSync prevents your monitor from rendering before it's ready. That is what killed my gameplay. There's lots of complaints on the ...
...and by cheating I mean "Build a 2 block high wall around your build and we'll turn off mob spawning". Where's the fun in that?
Anyway...Light Level Overlay let's you easily see if your build zone is protected from mobs spawning or not, real time as you place torches. Makes it a bit easier than running all over with your F3 on trying to find out if you're covered or not.
Works with the latest Forge for 1.7.10, but the link to that version isn't on ...
UHC Vanilla survival.... but with more death Started by Mikey on 15 August 2014 at 20:30
as you could tell from the title, I thought I should bring forth the idea of a server wide UHC survival game. Now basically UHC is done on a randomly generated world and has the gamerule of natural regen turned off. Now I think that this (if approved) would be a great way for the players to blow of some steam and just have a great time with their teams on a quest to kill the other teams.
Witch Farm! Info on the new, eventually to be public Witch farm. Started by CaptainVoxel on 5 August 2014 at 23:44
Hello! some of you may or may not know about the recent project ive been working on in Creeperslab. After hearing that there was a shortage of glowstone, as it is a limited resource i decided to make a public witch farm! The farm is coming along nicely, spawn rates are much higher than i expected! But i am far from done! The farm that i am building is based off of the witch farm youtuber Docm77 designed. if you are familiar with this design then you already know that this is a MASSIVE proje ...
Who wants a survival island event for next raffle? At this event people are going to be looking for the raffle items and pvping at the same time. If you die you won't be able to join us back to the island until next raffle, but if you found items at the island before you died you can keep them.^_^
Well lets say you didn't find anything sadly :(
but still if you killed a lot of people at the pvp you might still get a surprise prize. ^_^ ...and last and the best if you win the ...
xkcd for those who don't know it is a fantastically brilliant geek comic strip. I fortunately forget about it for months at a time and then get to spend an hour reading them all in a row. Found this gem today:
As an opening, I'd like to say that donations are doing fine overall, and I'm satisfied with how the server finances are going. Still, maybe there's something more that could be done to provide new options to our player base, so I'm considering options.
There's something that came up before, mostly in a joking matter, but I'm wondering if there isn't more to it: targeted donations. These would have a player (or group of players) donating to allow a speci ...
So we always say to newbies or on the description page, that Creeper's Lab is mostly vanilla with some utility mods. I figured out a better way to describe it simply. It's.....
My buddy posed this question for me, to help with his class project.
Ancient Gregorian Chant, in it's simplicity, provided an important foundation in the development of music and we can still hear it's influence in todays music. How can simplicity in art and music be as effective sometimes as complex art? Can you site examples of "simplicity" in music that you listen to or are familiar with that inspires you?
My response was thus:
Take Beethoven's Fifth Sympho ...

The big talk this week in Minecraft communities has been the topic of server monetisation and donations. After some days of back-and-forth on Twitter, Reddit and other places, Mojang posted a blog post detailing what's acceptable and what isn't. You can read it on their website.
As you know, I accept donations to help cover the server's costs and fund possible expansions. I've always maintained that what I do is fine with Minecraft's EULA, and this new blog post b ...

I spent part of the past two days playing around with DynMap settings, locally generating alternate views using various settings. As a test run, I've fully generated Gondwana's 3D map (the isometric view) with the highest amount of detail possible on a 30 degrees perspective (replacing the current 60 degrees view). This full render, instead of the usual 2 hours, took about 30 to complete (and overheated my PC once!). At 3.10 GB of disk space compared to the current 138 MB, this isn ...
On event night, around 9:00 PM Central (10:00 Eastern) time this Saturday the 24th, I will be dropping the wall on my Top Secret Project. Don't get too excited, this IS a Salifax Build, which means it is unfinished. But I think you will enjoy the first glimpse at the build.
Doc is putting in a TARDIS so it will be easy to get to. I can give directions through the Nether, but it's kind of a pain and not fully connected yet.
A few of us were discussing the possibility of getting a 3rd alternate world made for us to play on. The idea was to make the 3rd world The End. As we all know the current End gets reset about every 2 weeks give or take so people can kill the dragon and get the xp and achievement for it. But because this world gets reset so often we aren't able to play and build in that world. The idea of making a 3rd alternate world strictly for The End would help solve this issue. We could then enjoy ...
