Not nescesarily. (Why does that word have to be so hard to spell?). If you recall from MMZ3,

Spoiler (click to toggle)
There was more than one Zero reploid, although only one real Zero soul...

So there might end up being another Zero, or something... or maybe Zero will be rebuilt, or something. I dunno.

As a biometal?

The biometal is a reincarnate of Zero, so he live on in that form, at least.

Until it like... breaks.

Cuz we all know how Zero doesn't like being alive all the time.

Yeah Zero was pretty much a kamikaze man in the X series. Got kind of annoying after a while...

It was actually very pragmatic. I mean, he could always choose to be the kamikaze since he'd come back to life in a couple of weeks. That way no one ended up dead.

Well, I hope that they will create another Zero game but that is unlikely because the fact that you see his helmet in the end of Zero 4. But knowing Capcom they'll just ignore the fact that Zero died once again

unfortunately, history with capcom has shown, the longer a series seems to stay silent, the more likely it is that it's over.
so if they are going to do anything more with the zero series then they'll probably have to do it very soon.

i sure hope we haven't seen the last of the zx series yet.
it seems like they are desperately trying to upgrade everything handheld to it's console counterparts which basically translates as "2d games are pointless mwa ha ha ha!" :(
very sad.

I personally haven't seen an original MegaMan console release since X8. Am I missing something? I think this is the reverse of what you're saying.

The X series' continuation is only on the GBA/DS
BN/SF are all GBA/DS
For the time being, Legends is wrapped up.

You're correct: while there have been a few "Collections" releases, Mega Man X8 was the last brand-new Mega Man game to show up on home consoles. That game is starting to age already, and yet nothing has come up since.

I personally wouldn't say it's aged, but something new would be nice, anything - I would like even a Command Mission 2 - anything to break the console hiatus.

sorry about that guys, i think what i was trying to convey was that there seems to be a rush nowadays to push everything over to the next big system.
it seems like a few years and a new system is announced.
a game series ends up having to upgrade to keep up or get deleted altogether.
i personally enjoyed the nostalgia and traditional hangover of mega man 5 and 6.
7 and 8 turned out just plain goofy looking to me.
although i still play them and enjoy them, i think i could have lived with the original series remaining on the nes, even though it was out of season.

The Zero series hung it out on the GBA a couple of years post-DS launch, and Battle Network gave out only this year. Basically, Capcom is doing what they usually do - keep their big names on the same system for as long as possible, and then make the jump when it's opportunistic.

This answers why the Zero series closed so early (only 4!?) and the BN series ended so abruptly - with the launch of the DSlite, the DS came into full swing and the demand for new GBA games all but died out. Thus, Capcom wrapped up the GBA series and made the DS jump.

I'm not sure I like Capcom being the "slug" of the developers very much. I mean, shouldn't a game series about fighting robots be a bit more on top of the cutting-edge technology? Capcom has the money issues with MM, I guess, but I think that has partial blame in the "slug" effect - if a kid picked up his DSlite at launch, all he'd find is BN5:DTDS, not a good jump-right-in game.
