The reasons I said "poisoned food" is not only the one stated above, also, there really isn't much to compare between the two in fighting stuff, as fighting in both of their worlds goes completely different. If one of them had been, for instance, Goku, it would have been clear. But that's not the case.

Thirdly, one of the most recognisable with main (male) characters in manga/anime, is their great appetite. Due to this, food can and will be their greatest enemy if it is "not kosjer" so to say. In other words: poisoned.
