what is the best ending to any game you have ever played? IF you want you could also include the worst ending to any game you've ever played. I don't have a worst ending, but for my favorite endings, Wind Waker has to be one of my favorites.

Best Ending: Final Fantasy V.
Worse Ending: Zelda: Link's Awakening (even though I loved the game, but the whole "it's a dream...inside a dream" thing really ruined it for me)

Best: Shadow of the Collossus. It was a very satisfying and ominous ending, especially the final Collossus.

Worst: Lost Planet, the story in the game is crap from begining to end.

Best endings:

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker
Mega Man Zero 4
Kingdom Hearts
Final Fantasy X
Warcraft 3
Lunar 2: Eternal Blue COMPLETE

Worst Endings:

Mega Man X6 (Good game, but the ending could've been a lot better.)
Final Fantasy VIII (Good game, and ending not actually bad, more like WTF?)
Jet Force Gemini
Turok 3: Shadows of Oblivion

Ok, not saying this was a bad ending at all, but an ending that really disapointed me was Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess. It was good, but it just seemed, rushed in a way. I don't know, it just left me feeling empty...

Best Ending:

LoZ: Wind Waker
LoZ: Twilight Princess
Age of Mythology
Age of Mythology: The Titans

Worst Ending:

Any of those games in which there has been little to no (good) storyline at all. Mainly shooters, low-budget or older RPGs, etc.

Sonic Adventure DX. To quote Tails, "Alls well that ends well, eh Sonic?"

Of course it should be understood that I'm sarcastic. XD

I dunno. I kinda liked Jade Cocoon 2's ending, though it wasn't especially creative.

I must agree with you there, Arkane. I was kinda disappointed about it, especially with Midna shattering the mirror into... well, so many pieces they couldn't even be seen anymore. >_>

I haven't played the game (and don't really intend to XD), but I think it should be fairly obvious this warrants a spoiler tag if I'm not mistaken.

Terranigma. Hands down.

You work your arse off saving the world and helping rebuild life and evolution itself, and what's there to show for it?

It's a beautiful ending though. The credits roll is just awe inspiring.

Which Lunar 2 are you referring to? The one for the Sega CD or its Playstation remake?

Best Ending- Ico. Definitely. Absolutely. Seriously. Once you think you seen the ending, there is actually more to the story...

Worst Ending- Alone in the Dark: One-Eyed Jack's Revenge. Not only you had to painfully move your character around at 2 frames per MINUTE, the ending was a confusion of "What's happening?" and with just the text "The End" on the bottom. I would have figured that with all the text that was in the game describing how zombie pirates wanted revenge against some witch (or something like that, the texts were boring... ^^; ), you would expect a paragraph on what Carby (the main character gumshoe) did after the event.

Another bad ending was Syd of Valis for the Sega Genesis. It's a cool game until you hit the end. The last boss is impossible to beat. I'm not joking. I think they wanted everyone who played it to die and not see the ending because if you do manage to cheat your victory, you will notice... the ending is not translated! @_@ They translated the items and the previous cutscenes but the ending is untouched. Very weird!

Yeah, I've got the game as well. And yes, you're right, there should've been a sequel. Maybe Gaijinworks will make Lunar 3. >.>

The Lunar series was developed by GameArts, the same people who gave us Grandia. GameWorks translated and published the games in North America, thats all. So a third Lunar is still possible - the real question is whether or not a publisher would pick it up for release outside Japan.
