After quite a while spent cooking in the oven, I'm happy to present to you IOBoard v1.2! Several new features are in, along with a bunch of bug fixes:

New in this version:
- Updated the search engine to match the IOekaki functionnality level
- Searching for a topic title (with no post content) will no longer return multiple entries
- Made checkbox descriptions clickable
- It's now possible to subscribe to a topic when creating it or replying to one
- Improved page location indicator (at the right of the forum logo)
- Skins support! A skin can be applied to any page individually as needed
- A member can now be assigned to several ranks at the same time
- Fixed the display of some stats in the dedicated stats page
- Forums now have the option not to be counted to determine a member's posts count
- Chat integration code was moved to a plugin
- RPG stats display was moved to a plugin and completely rewritten
- Fixed: the topic pages counter will no longer appear when there's only one page worth of posts
- Fixed: the memberlist will now remember the options set when navigating through the list
- Fixed: the Private Messenger feature to delete all messages

Some features, such as skins support, are available but not in use yet: I don't have any skins outside of the default one available! I'll create some new ones eventually and put them to good use.

With this update also comes the return of the RPG forum and the forum games! The two used to be available, but a large problem came from posting spam: some people would waste hours creating dummy RPGs or forum games just to raise their post count. The new forum, dedicated to both activities, goes around this problem thanks to a new feature of v1.2: the option to disable posts counting in a specific forum. This means that any new posts done in this forum won't count toward your total amount. The existing "An RPG" topic was moved to this new forum, and some people's count has gone way down as a result! More details are available in the new forum's introduction topic.

For any questions or comments, feel free to speak up!

Welcome to IOBoard v1.2.1!

This upgrade is focused on a few new features available on the board, instead of the more usual long list of modifications.

New in this version:
- Large reorganization of the Private Messaging system
- Subforums
- Notification area

The Private Messenger's codebase has been completely reviewed and augmented with several key possibilities. For example, board moderators now have the ability to send a mass PM to all board members if wanted. Some of the pages' design has been improved to leave more room for the text and by including members' avatars, making it easier to see who exactly sent a given message.

Second, we now have the option to use subforums. These special forums, instead of being included on the board index, are located within another forum. This gives an extra level of depth when organizing the various discussions, keeping some topics out of sight of people not interested in them. For the people like me who'd prefer to have all of the existing forums listed in a single place, a new option has been added in the user profiles: "Expand subforums". When turned on, the board's main index will display all forums regardless of their depth.

While no subforums have been created at this point, the board's listing will eventually be updated. That's when those will come into play.

Last but not least, any and all messages to which you should pay some attention are now included in the "Notifications" box at the right of the board's header. If there are no messages waiting for you, this area will be hidden. Whenever you receive new private messages, the flashing display will be shown there, much like how it happened previously. Also, the number of messages you've manually marked in the Private Messenger will be displayed there. It offers you a reminder to review the messages you've selected for a few hours or days, instead of forgetting that you wanted to check on them.

As usual, if this update is causing you any issue, or to give a comment, then post away!

UPDATE: The Private Messenger's inbox is now back online.

Two bugs have been fixed tonight:

- The Private Messager wouldn't open when you clicked on the approriate links. It should now behave properly.

- The access rights weren't managed properly for all forums. As a result, no one outside of the moderators was able to reply to the notices posted on this forum. As a reminder, while you can't create new topics here, you are able to reply to the announcements!

We're now on v1.2.2!

Much like the previous update, this entry is focused on adding a few new key features.

New in this version:
- Forums in blog format
- More flexible access rights
- New posting engine
- External API for data exchanges
- Code clean-up

Most notably, large parts of background code used to manage the posts, topics and forums were rewritten to use a better structure and to allow me to easily add new features. This is the same type of work as what I've done to the Private Messenger in the past update, except on a larger scale.

None of the new features are visible right now, but you'll see the first changes pop up in the coming days. An updated board structure will allow you to consult some content of the website right on this board, including the news items, and you'll even be able to comment on them! A separate announcement will be done with the details once everything is ready.

Also available but not used yet is the ability for me to create some forums in a blog format. This would allow a member or a group of members to post entries on a regular basis, and for all registered readers to comment on these posts. Blogs will be added once there's a reason to create them!

As usual, I've done some careful checks to make sure that everything works properly, but it's possible that I overlooked something. If you notice something off, don't hesitate to ask me about it!
