We thought CactusMan had the possibility to be the most inventive/creative. There were some pretty good runner-ups, though, which we will post soon.

Honestly, I am surprised Capcom themselves never used, Cactus Man in any of their games. It roles off the tongue nicely, plus the design of this navi. Quite suitable, nice touch with the guitar.

Hey, giver, I just came off the MMBN1 LP over at the LP Archive. Is it too late to pitch Navi designs? I have one I'd love to see. Hell, even a cameo would be awesome.

The only navi designs we'd take are ones that are sketches/sprite concepts of navis we are already planning to use. But even then, we'd have people to make the hand drawn sketch, not necessarily the sprites, though. So if you can sprite well, drop me a PM with your MSN/email.

Oh, look, another update from the Chrono X team!

Image

What does this mean? Well, if you haven't guessed, then it means demo 4 will feature customizable controls! That's right! We found a way that doesn't take a whole lot of time to implement.

A few things to note, though.

First, you would have to set these controls BEFORE running the game. This is because the game would load your control scheme before starting it up. If the game doesn't detect this file for some reason, then the controls will default to the usual (Z,X,A,S, Enter, Backspace, and the arrow keys).

Second, do you remember that the in-game text says things like: "Press the Z button!"? Well, that dialogue WON'T be changed. This is so we don't overload the game's memory, and it would also cut down on development time. Hope this won't be a problem.

Hey, all! I just want to inform those who missed out on our "MMBN Chrono X 2011 Year Ending Event" celebration that the video is available on YouTube!

The celebration was, as the title infers, a live event of Megadudes Team showing exclusive never-before-revealed content from MMBN: Chrono X. The video below has it all. Many thanks to our head moderator, DSH, for putting it all together!

Amazing. Looks like Capcom did it. As it is, though, I hesitate to see too much of this, as I wouldn't want to spoil that "New Megaman Game!" feel. It's already been said, but the dialog and music are spot on!

Fair enough, Daveris. I can see why you would choose that.

In another news...

In cooperation with us, EXE Net Center is hosting a contest!(February 14th-14th March 2012)!

Design your own NetNavi (and NetOp, if you want) for the RockMan.EXE universe. You'll need to detail their attacks, defenses, HP, appearance, and what their chip would do. You are free to redesign a Robot Master from the original series if you so choose, but make it unique! You are permitted to draw as many Navis as you wish.

The only physical prize is a copy of the MegaMan Battle Network Official Complete Works art book (the winner to be decided by EXE Net Center's staff).

Image

More than that, if one of the designs will be good enough, there's chance it will be featured in our fangame!
Whether to award this prize and to whom it would go will be entirely up to the MegaDudes staff (us). To be considered for immortalization in the game, your entry must contain designs for both a NetNavi and NetOp. Original submissions will all be considered, but it would be nice to see a design for the old Robot Master GeminiMan, so that's an option too(just DON'T spam the contest with entires with GeminiMan only!)

Send all entries to exenetmail@gmail.com after February 14th, 2012 and before March 14th, 2012!!

That's all for today, good luck!

For those of you who were checking out Facebook, we have revealed Project Iceberg!

That's right! "Project Iceberg" has been revealed! What is Project Iceberg? It refers to a part of our game that will extend your playtime of Demo 4 and the full game by an extremely high amount. It will allow you to interact with the Chrono X community on another level! Ladies and gentlemen, I bring to you: a built-in Chrono X online mode!

Image

Yes, this is real, folks. And at the botton of that picture, you can see screenshots related to the main part of the 4th demo. Lookin' nice, eh? If you haven't signed up on the forums yet, by all means do so. Stay tuned for more updates.

Welcome, Chrono X fans. By the time you read this, it might be May 11th, 2012, depending on where you live, but as of May 10th, Chrono X is officially 3 years old!

We had 3 presents we want to share on May 10th, however, it seems as though one of the gifts will arrive late. Still, that leaves us with two sets of gifts to show today.

The first is the revised Chrono X history, complete with a recording on the biggest events from Aug 2nd, 2011 to May 10th, 2012, done by me.

The second is two tracks released by Soulred12 that will be heard in the upcoming demo. These are two tracks you already heard, but now with using the new soundfont. One is original, and one is a revision.

http://www.mmbnchronox.com/CanYouBreathe.mp3
http://www.mmbnchronox.com/CentralTownII.mp3

Enjoy. The first is Dungeon#1's theme and the second one should be obvious.

Now, the third and final gift is the biggest one, but, like I said, it will have to come a bit later, so be patient, okay?

Here's to Chrono X's third year!

The Steel Drum sound throws it off completely... There's not another drum effect (Or you could sub it for bass...)that you could use?

Besides that, this is the closest I've seen to an imitation of Capcom's style. Amazing. Just... Amazing that you were able to pull it off where so many others have failed.

Congrats on making it all the way to three years, and still have the momentum to go forward. :)

I might not comment much on this thread, but I'm looking forward to play the completed version of the game! I love the attention to details and accuracy you've got going.

Thanks for the support guys!

Hello Everyone!

I have two items that I want to give today. The first is another piece of promotional art and the other is something downloadable! As I'm sure you can guess, we got another wallpaper for you fans to sink your teeth into. This time it's...!

Image

1920 X 1080
1366x768
1200x800

Yep, It's FreezeX this time. If you like it, use it as your desktop's wallpaper!

This second gift is something that MaxRock been working on from some time. Don't worry, He has still been working on Demo 4, but there were times where he couldn't. And when he couldn't he worked on this. You will all get to download and try a piece of it today! Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you... the first public test build of MegaMan Battle Network - Chrono X on the Android!

DOWNLOAD HERE: LINK

It's not as extensive as the PC demos, as it only has one battle included, but nevertheless, we still want you guys to test this and provide feedback.
The requirements to run it are Android 2.2 & up, 256mb of RAM, armv6/armv7/mips CPU + 17mb of free space.
Also, no worries. Like I wrote above, Chrono X's 4th Demo is almost done.

Oh heck YES!

Now things are getting serious! The Battle Network concept is a great match for modern smartphones, but I didn't dare hope that anyone would do something about it!

I've tested this using my phone, as I've got a Google Nexus S running Android ICS 4.0.4. It runs like a charm! If I didn't know any better, I'd think I've got a GameBoy Advance emulator running in there. I didn't notice any slowdowns, crashes or anything that seemed out of place. Eventually, I think it'd be great to have controls more suited to a phone, such as tapping the chips directly to select or unselect them instead of having to use virtual arrows and A/B buttons, but the current setup is perfectly fine for a test built.

Tell you what, I'd be available to run further tests if you need me to. I love the idea of being able to play this on my phone instead of the computer (portable Battle Network!), so be sure to let me know if I can be of help.

Also, you might want to update your signature here: you're still pointing to the old web address. :)

Full integration with the controls would take some time as our programmer would have to rewrite some basic parts of the code. But we will keep that suggestion in mind.

Nice catch on the signature though, LOL

Hey there! It's Killer here with the latest information behind our game. In order to tie things over until the demo releases (which, if real-life circumstances permit, shouldn't be too far now), I decided to release a few screenshots showing just SOME of the improvements we've made. We have no doubt that the 4th demo will be superior in every way, especially since we are swapping out the placeholder graphics for newer, fresher ones! Don’t worry, doing this in particular doesn't hold up the programming side of things, but it’s always nice to see some new things now and again, right?

Anyway, time for some screenies!

Image

Despite being busy with life, MaxRock managed to get a few more cut-scenes done. This marks the latest one. Looks like Mr.Prog will give MegaMan a helpful item!

Image

We finally managed to put in a fresh Internet Background! Like it? Just try not to feel too bad for the Mettaur.

Image

That sure is a familiar sight, isn’t it?

Image

Mayl’s got some new stuff in her room! Can you spot all the changes?

Image

Wait... Totems!? A version 2 of two viruses!? Why so strong!? I don't want to spoil it, but this is a mandatory fight. Should be fun for most of you~

Image

Anyone remember these doors? There’s always some sort of nice prize behind one of these, but this one is a purple mystery data. Hmm…

That's all for today. If you're checking the site, then you'll notice the counter is at 97% Woot!
