We have a dedicated XMPP chat server available for everyone to join. Open to all, this discussion space covers several topics. Some channels are also linked with the in-game chat of our game servers.

Join using Movim

Accounts

If you already have a XMPP account somewhere, you can look up the list of channels at chat.interordi.com and join right away. Otherwise, read on.

You can also join with your Interordi Account directly. If you don't already have one, create one first. Then, you can join with [username]@chat.interordi.com and your account password.

Make sure to use this format for your username:

• Replace spaces and hyphens with an underscore.
• Remove special characters.

For example, if your username is My Account-#1, enter My_Account_1@chat.interordi.com. CaPiTaLiZaTiOn is ignored.

Clients

You can join with the XMPP client of your choice. If you don't want to download or install anything, you can access Movim from your browser. Open the page, login, and you're all set!

If you prefer to install a client, Gajim is one that many of us use and are familiar with. Otherwise, you can look at the excellent list compiled on Queer Spark.

Finding channels

Once logged in, you'll start with an empty list of channels. Unlike Discord, you don't get a whole list right away. You can search and join all the ones you're interested it. The way to do it changes from client to client:

• In Gajim: Click the user icon at the bottom left, then select your account in the list. In the page that opens, click the 3 dots and select "Discover services", then "Conference rooms".
• In Movim: Hit the big + button, then choose "Join a discussion room" in the window that opens.

From there, you can choose which ones you're interested in.
