Most players here will be familiar with doorgunnerjgs, a regular that's been with us for many years. Unfortunately, I have to inform you that he passed away last week, on January 31rd, at the age of 79. As you might be aware, door was invited to play with us by his son, Exodio (hi Uncle Sal!). His grandsons have also spent quite a bit of time with us: AlphaSniper828, Aaranvor, KylosaurusRenx and AwesomeBoyStar and dinosaureats, plus other friends and relatives. These would sometime mee ...
Whenever you're exploring and you face tall grass, you're never sure what's hiding behind it. Worse, if you're playing in science areas, you can't hit mobs through it. What a bother. We have added a new server plugin to solve exactly this: if you try to attack an enemy through any tall plant, your hit will carry instead of being stopped by the scenery. Thanks to GodofRandom23 for the suggestion!

Should you join using the newest version on Java Edition, you will see this notification on the corner of your screen: This is normal and caused by us still running 1.19 internally; there's nothing to be worried about. Region markers are back

I've developed a new building ground near Central for this, called Oak Hills. To find it, go to Central then take the overland train line toward Victoria. Continue past the desert settlement. You'll arrive at a fork, where you need to take the line identified as "Oak Hills". The next stop is your destination!
Each contestant can use a single 20x20 lot as building ground. There are currently 9 availabl ...

Today, I'm extremely happy to announce the next big step for the Creeper's Lab: Minecraft Bedrock Edition support! The two main versions of Minecraft, Java and Bedrock, have been aiming for feature parity for some time now. While we're not quite there yet, the two are getting close enough where it's getting realistic for both sets of players to meet each other online at last. This means that players of Bedrock Edition on both Windows 10 and mobile can now jump in with us! ...

Last week, I made a call for fresh blood to join the staff group. First things first, I'd like to thank everyone who applied: this got more attention than I was expecting, which is good sign that the community is healthy and that people want to get involved more!
With that said, this leaves us with a few nominations:
- Both **MineshaftBob** and **xLordItachix** are being promoted to the op status!
- To replace them, **BiGsTiVo** and **Twixxi_** are joining the group as helpers!
- ...
All contest areas are usually set around a given theme and have been designed to have a cohesive look amongst all buildings. New additions after the contests are usually welcomed, as long as they stick to the known theme and follow the same rules as the existing entries.
To help keep that unified, clean look, I'm adding an extra guideline today: at the staff's discretion, builds within former contest areas that don't belong are subject to be removed after two months of inac ...

The game servers had been mostly down for the past two days as we experienced some hardware issues on our dedicated server. A technical team reviewed it and improved its cooling, which should mean the end of our troubles.
All game servers are back online and waiting for you. Sorry about the trouble!
I've started the update process for 1.14 and performed a dry run to see how the new version will work with our current setup. Unfortunately, a major complication has shown up: the plugin that's currently in place to track the player statistics is not compatible with 1.14 and its author has abandoned it. While it would be possible to move forward without it, it's tied to a lot of systems: achievements, player profiles, griefing tracking, and more. Considering that the achieveme ...
I've pushed a series of improvements to the website to polish up the new version that was launched in January. These include higher resolution images for mobile and 4K display users, corrections to the sidebar and improved navigation among other things.
I've received little feedback on the website changes since the last revamp, and I'd like to hear from you, especially if you're viewing the site on your phone or tablet. Is there anything that stands out, in good or bad ...
After a few months of planning and work, I'm happy to release today a brand new website for the Creeper's Lab!
The previous design had been in use for over four years, and I thought it was time for a renewal, going through each page one at a time. At first glance, you might think that nothing's changed, but that's definitely not the case!
The behind-the-scenes structure of the website was overhauled to a new, more modern system. Various sections have been reorganize ...
The tests I've conducted so far have been promising. While I still have some work left before it happens, I can now say that we'll be updating to Minecraft 1.13 Tuesday next week, the 23rd. I'll use the time before then to finish some needed software development along with ensuring that things are as stable as possible. A few minor items will likely be missing at first, but will be added back in when either myself or the original plugin authors take care of it. Those who have ...
