With 4 million sales and counting, not even out of beta as of this writing, this game took the web by storm. The initially simple, accessible, blocky world appealed to many people who now play either in single player, multiplayer, or using tons of mods. Check it out at http://www.minecraft.net !
This forum is open to talk about the game, mobs, texture packs, screenshots, stories, whatever! If you want to post about the Creeper's Lab, whether it ...
Let me first explain what Mods and Texture packs are. Mods are things that alter the games functionality. Some mods give you the ability to summon blocks that never run out in single player mode, summon monsters, and fly in both multi and single. Some mods are against server rules and will probably get you banned so it is highly suggested only to use single player mods.
Texture packs are basically skins for your world. It alters the way the game looks. If you get a patching program it wil ...
Noteworthy seeds Because I happened to roll a weird singleplayer... Started by Pteryx on 19 July 2019 at 18:16
So, when 1.14.4 hit, I figured I'd try a singleplayer seed with large biomes... and got dumped into the middle of the ocean, with my bonus chest floating a block above the surface and no land in sight. There was, at least, a coral reef in sight so I could find someplace to stand. While this is useless as a survival seed, I figure this might at least be of some interest as a thing to use in Creative mode.

Minecon will be an online stream again this year, this time on 29 September. I didn't even get around to watch last year's since I wasn't available when it happened. Anyone know if it's worth looking back for?
If you've been on the fence about the new textures that Mojang has been preparing for a while, or if you're just curious to try them, the team has released a sample pack of their current progress.
I've tested it. I like how most things look, the textures look smoother (but not blurry) and they're still colorful, which is how I like my games to look. Some of the items could probably use some tuning still, that minecart especially stands out.
This was recently shared with me by a friend on Facebook, even though it's coming up on 2 years old at the end of this year. It's actually rather adorable.
I'm in need of a massive number if bookshelves, so I'm selling End items for bookshelves. Let me know here if you're interested. I only carry one extra elytra at any one time so as not to hoard them, but fetching new ones isn't difficult.
Here are my prices:
Elytra: 64 Bookshelves
Shulker Box: 16 Bookshelves
Chorus Flower: 4 Bookshelves
Chorus Fruit: 1 Bookshelf per 8 Edited by StTheo on May 23, 2017 at 1:47:17
Have never dug into Spigot code see what all it does to improve ticks and whatnot (i.e. if it solves for the following), but was surprised I'd never read anything on this before with hoppers:

Basically - put an inventory block on top of hoppers that aren't ever going to be 'pulling' from above to reduce their impact to ticks. Edited by kagato on April 30, 2017 at 20:11:01
Quoting from Twitter: "For 1.11 there is a new game rule called "maxEntityCramming" with the default set to 24 (i.e. 25+ entities at the same spot will suffocate)
Since this affects grinders, chicken machines, elytra launchers, and so on, it will be included in the next snapshot"
Basically, if a bunch of mobs get stuck in a small area (like, say, the drop point of a grinder), they'll start suffocating and die. The era of laggy grinders with 100+ entities might ...
My face just dropped so hard. I wanted faster updates, sure, but I wasn't expecting something so quickly. I feel like I just finished stabilizing the servers for 1.9... In my mind, major upgrades every six months or so would be ideal.
On the upside, having smaller updates more often might make things easier. The updates for, say, 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2 were fairly straightforward to process compared to the 1.7, 1.8 and 1.9 cycles.
Funny that, I was planning to visit California at some point, have no vacation plans this year yet, and it's scheduled right in the season that I like to travel the most... On the other hand, the current CAD-USD exchange rate is just awful. Hmm...
The Mine Chest Monthly Minecraft goodies to your door Started by Doctacosa on 28 October 2015 at 2:13
Okay, so, this is a thing now. (Mojang news post)
For $30 + shipping every month, you get a box filled with Minecraft merchandise. T-shirts, figures, foam tools and similar stuff are to be expected. It's brand new, so we don't have a model box as a reference just yet.
On my end, that'd be $30 + $15 shipping, so $45 a month to get random Minecraft items.
I know that things like Loot Crate have been running for a while, but I don't get it. If I want to buy merchand ...
Hey, guys. It's been a while, right? I kind of got sucked into the Stygian succubus that is modded Minecraft. And now you can, too! I talked to Doc about advertising here, by the way. I'm not hijacking the Calmwaters ;)
I'm one of four founders of the Minecraft server Wayward Creepers. We're a modded server utilizing the 1.6.4 build of Resonant Rise through the AT launcher. We want more active players, so I'm here to invite everyone to come check it out. We'r ...
There were hints pointing toward that, but it looks like we'll be able to dual wield some tools in 1.9.
Quoting the Dinnerbone: "The way I want dual wielding to work is that it uses the right click action of your off-hand item if your main-hand doesn't have its own. For example; if you have a pickaxe in your main hand and a torch in your other hand, right click places the torch."
This might make digging tunnels and mines a touch easier, and I'm looking forward ...
Many people have made the link between Lego bricks and Minecraft since the two share a similar "blocky" look. Some people are rallying together to suggest a Minecraft-branded line of Lego products on the LEGO CUUSOO site, and the project actually has a chance of making it to market if it gains enough support (at least 10 000 people).
If you'd like to see that, be sure to head over to the site, register, and pledge your support to the proposal!
