This forum is dedicated to the Original Series in the Mega Man realm. Ranging from Mega Man 1 to 8, to the GameBoy titles and oddball games (Mega Man Soccer, anyone?), this series includes by far the largest number of games. For the future, the question is: did Capcom forgot about the original Blue Bomber?

On some online game I played, there was quite a fuss about Rockman & Forte. Some said that it was just a side game, some said that it was Megaman 9. I guess that it\'s just a side game, but according to someone, R&F\'s story (allthough there\'s not much story) was perfectly connected to Megaman 8 and 7. I thought this wasn\'t impossible, since Megaman meets Bass (Forte) in 7, but I\'ve never played MM8. So, I want your opinions.
Udon recently published the first volume in the US, and the second one is scheduled for later this year. Has anyone else picked up a copy? I didn't see a thread about it yet...
Personally, I think I would have appreciated the stories a bit more when I was younger. Still, the art is top notch and the character designs are really interesting. Ariga's interpretation of the characters and story deviates a bit from the established universe, but I really like how he sees it. I particu ...
...okay, other thread got wonky somehow. Anyway, there's gonna be a new Mega Man ongoing comic from Archie! Patrick Spaziante is on-tap to do art. (He drew for the Dreamwave comic.) This might be the first legit comic book series I actually want to check out.
I am surprised that nobody mentioned it. Keiji Inafune surprised us and announced this awesome brand new game.
If you are concern about Capcom sues them. Keiji already explained that in his website.. So, you can read more details about it which I already posted the link below for you. ENJOY!
Dr. Cossack, you can credit me in your front page if you want. Anyway...
It will explain to you in detail better than I do. Here:

IGN's staff has posted an article on their thoughts about what Capcom should and shouldn't do with the Mega Man franchise.
I must say that I agree with them all the way. The franchise has a style that must be built upon, even if an alternate graphics style is used for a new series. I also think that a reboot would be a terrible idea, and that they should focus on a new IP if they want to do something like that.
My favorite quote: "We don't care what Mega Man's ...
So my gf likes to point out to me when Cracked.com articles contain Mega Man. This one talks about Rockboard and uses screenshots from your patch, though it doesn't mention the patch specifically or this website in anyway. Still, thought I'd pass it along.
Capcom announced that they'll be releasing later this year the Rockman 25th Anniversary Soundtrack, which includes the soundtracks from the numbered games in the original series, in a fancy e-can package.
At ~185$ US, I'm definitely not importing that, but it's the first actual content for the 25th anniversary. Hopefully, more will follow!
I don't know if I posted this in the right forums, so here goes...
As the title says, I need ideas for weapons for a Mega Man fan game I'm working on currently. It is in NES format as accurately as I can possibly get it, to the point it even has sprite flicker and slow down if too many sprites are on the screen at once.
Mega Man and Bass are playable characters and each have 8 secondary weapons they pick up in the stages alongside the master weapons they get for defeating a ...
This thread at Digital Press was linked on MMN's forums. There's a ton of photos of Capcom internal images and memorandum, including some interesting looks at in-progress box art designs for several games, as well as story outlines.
Two such blurry letters can be found amongst them, related to Mega Man 3. I transcribed parts I could make out:

Here's the story:
After his defeat at the hands of Mega Man, Dr. Wily decided

Picture Lives! is a game available right now for the 3DS eShop in Japan. It's a D.I.Y. game, and it look like someone has already created a Mega Man themed game!
I'm not familiar with the plot of the game, but consider this: is it possible that the reason why Mega Man no longer exists in the Mega Man X era because of the events of Mega Man II?
Basically, the reason why Mega Man isn't there is because he was turned into Quint, and subsequently destroyed by Mega Man?
Art Direction Can't please everybody... or can you? Started by Sb20 on 7 April 2011 at 11:11
One thing a lot of people complained about for Mega Man Universe was its revamped "American cartoon" based grumpy Mega Man art style. Before that, Mega Man Powered Up got equally rough treatment for its cutesy super deformed art direction.
Seems that every time Mega Man tries to get updated to modern hardware nowadays, he gets a new art style. I'm sure they try to do this to both distinguish the new brand and appeal to a wider audience, but it seems like every time they ali ...
