Screenshots don't do this thing justice, you've got to see the movies. I'm impressed.

The lack of proper shading makes it hard to judge of distances, and climing mountains seems more difficult than it should be as a result, but maybe Doom 2 is too old to support that properly.

This is looking much better with multiple characters! As great as Mega Man is, it looked a bit silly to have 6+ identical Mega Men fighting all at once. This thing could really be fun, especially with the level hazards (lifts, beams and so on)!

I must admit that I was very impressed with the introduction. I totally didn't see that coming, and it's a great way to showcase what the game offers.

Just gave the game a quick swirl. This is rather crazy! I didn't take the time to configure my controls properly so I wasn't too competitive, but I can see the potential in such a game. This is the kind of simple, fun thing that you pull out at LAN parties and end up playing for a few hours without noticing how time is flying by.

Full release on October 8. Get your robot master weapons ready!

I am addicted to this. Some guy (Yellow Devil) even made a class mod that makes all robot masters behave as normal (Centaur man's buster splits, metal man has infinite metal blades, etc. I recommend everyone get this.

To correct directly by IP, from the game's launcher, go to the Connect tab, enter the IP address 66.131.135.129, then click "Connect".

- 20 frags or 10 minutes limit

We had a lot of fun last night, and I'm definitely open to play the game some more. If someone wants to play, drop me a note and I'll join you. You'll learn to fear my Pharaoh Shot!

From the game's launcher, you can use the third tab to setup and launch a server. If you're behind a router, you need to setup port forwarding for UDP data on the port 10666. I wasn't able to get that part working on my end (I blame my router, not the game), so I plugged my computer directly in my Internet connexion to get it going.

From there, people can join the server you created if you give them your public IP address (hint: http://ip.interordi.com/ ). There's also a software called DoomSeeker that you can use to view all of the public game servers available. That must be how the unknown people from last Saturday's match found us.

If you need some more detailed explanations, the Cutstuff message board has a lot of pointers and nice tutorials.

Out of curiosity, is anyone still playing this?

A recent update added Mega Man 8 stages and characters, adding even more variety to what is already a large game!

It's too much trouble for me to start a server often (I need to tear down half my network setup to get it to work, then rebuild it afterwards), but if someone else would take care of that, I'd jump in once in a while.
