That's exactly what I was thinking when I saw that trailer. We're looking at some sort of crossover fighting-like game, including some other Capcom franchises, tied together by a random supporting plot.
Considering the title is called
Mega Man Universe, I kind of thought the inclusion of Ryu and Arthur in the trailer was implying that Mega Man will have access to more than just any included robot master's abilities in this game, but also other characters from other Capcom franchises.
But after reading many others' comments, I'm starting to think that this game will be a Mega Man styled LittleBigPlanet. And unlike LBP, MMU will be a downloadable game. I'd hardly call that "pushing the envelope".
