Since there's virtually no information, I have no idea where to put this, so let's call it "original" for now, unless Dox says otherwise. :V
I was going to post this myself, but there doesn't seem to be enough info on it right now.

Intriguing.
I'm honestly not sure what to make of this. "Universe" sounds like MMO-grade material, but such games are high-risk, high-cost projects that Capcom isn't likely to get involved in. Could it be a new series set sometime after Star Force? That staff has to be working on something, and "Universe" sounds like a logical follow-up to "Network" and "Star".

Seth Killian is a community manager. It's his job to be excited about new products and to transmit that feeling to the fans. 
I can easily imagine a new Mega Man series being worth of that attention, even if it's "only" a sequel to the BN and SF worlds.

Four thoughts come to mind when I think about "Universe" as the title:
1. It could be a compilation, with several aspects of a single series rolled into one.
2. A cross-over with several of the different series mixed together.
3. It literally means a Mega Man that takes place beyond the Earth, whether it's a new spin-off, or a side game to an existing series.
4. A Mega Man MMO; a MMMMO.
Or it could also very well be just a fancy name that has no meaning at all.
Either way, I really hope it's something revolutionary as a Mega Man game, which becomes a retail console game, that isn't on a handheld.

I've heard the MMO idea quite a few times now, and I'm sure it would work, but I doubt the subscriber base is there.
Surprisingly, I've heard more than a few fans suggest the crossover idea, with the idea of linking everything together. The title doesn't really fit that idea for me, but I've been wanting nothing more than that for years now.
What has me interested is the idea of a fighting game. There's enough characters to do it, and hey, Capcom may have just a bit of experience in the fighting genre. Rather than a third in the arcade fighter series, I can see it as a game with a huge roster and a Smash Bros-like gameplay model. Lots of items, mini-games and stages to go through, etc.
But if this is more EXE garbage, I'm going to cry. Did Star Force sell well enough to justify ANOTHER series in that line?

Mega Man Universe revealed at Capcom Unity!!

Not sure what Arthur and Ryu are doing but, hey, it's still titled Mega Man Universe.
Maybe it's hinting at the possibility of customizing your very own Mega Man? We'll have to wait and see!
Game will be coming out to Xbox live, and to the Playstation Network.
I'm guessing that it's Capcom's answer to Smash Bros. Inafune has been quoted saying that he's waiting for Nintendo to ask to use Mega Man, but they never did. It might not be a fighter, per se, but the theme of a multi-franchise crossover in a game is apparent.

Gameplay trailers. Make sure to view all three to see the different variations of Mega Man in action.
I have to say, the graphics look really weird, and everything looks especially junky. A mixture of sprites and 2.5D models? The character models look bad too. IMO.
I really hope for some online multiplayer for this game. Judging from the level designs, it looks like there will be a level editor. Hopefully good gameplay can help compensate for the look of the game.

I wish they had showed some gameplay with Ryu. Honestly, that's the most interesting aspect of this game to me especially after seeing these trailers.
The MM1 boxart Megaman does look pretty funny though.
I once ruled Interordi with an iron fist.

Aaaaargh! *insert rant ending by "I QUIT!" here*
I was hoping that this... "thing" was included in the teaser as a cute nod to the fans, but having it within the actual game confirms the one thing I feared: this is a pure fan service game, and nothing else. The fact that it seems to be based on Mega Man 2 (again) only highlights that. I can't be the only one who prefered the look and pacing of the series in the late NES games...
I also don't like the idea that it's going to reach into Capcom's other properties, with Ryu and Arthur making the cut. I play the Mega Man series as I enjoy the games themselves, not because it's a Capcom franchise. I get the same feeling from the Sonic fan sites who cover titles like NiGHTS Into Dreams or Burning Rangers: I'm here for information about the Sonic franchise, not everything that Sonic Team ever worked on!
As Arkane said, I'm hoping for online multiplayer. By the apparent size of the screen, there's plenty of room for two players to move around the levels at the same time, either in coop or competition mode. I'm not a fan of the graphic style either, but I've said that about several other games before and it eventually grew on me, so I'll wait to see what's coming next.

but then I was like: Phoenix Wright is a Capcom property.
That's true, I forgot about that. Phoenix isn't exactly a platformer character, but at this point, anything is possible!

I think the new Mega Man they've made for this game could use a few tweaks. Call it blasphemy, but frankly they should replace him with the Mega Man from the Ruby-Spears cartoon or something similar.
After all, it looks as though this new Mega Man was created to appeal to us westerners.
Ruby Spears Mega Man would be so bad it's awesome, but without him...eh.
I could go for the RS Mega Man in a game. Hell, that one actually put the "Man" in Mega Man.
