Udon recently published the first volume in the US, and the second one is scheduled for later this year. Has anyone else picked up a copy? I didn't see a thread about it yet...

Personally, I think I would have appreciated the stories a bit more when I was younger. Still, the art is top notch and the character designs are really interesting. Ariga's interpretation of the characters and story deviates a bit from the established universe, but I really like how he sees it. I particularly like Roll's design, which gives her more personality than I would have expected.

I have the first one, and I love it. I love the atmosphere and the more mature style. Some of the Robot Master designs are a little hit or miss, in my opinion.

It's strange how they wrapped up the events of Mega Man 3 on a single page.

Also, according to Amazon, Megamix 2 will be released on May 11, and Megamix 3 will be released August 10.

Of course, there always seems to be a delay with these kinds of things, especially with Amazon.

Are they going to be in print long enough? I waited on the Zero artbook, and now my only option is to import (can't read) or pay $100+. I could be wrong, but I don't think that Udon is a longterm printer. I could be even more wrong, and we could get all three as one tankoban...

I have never read a single Megamix book. I should purchase some from Udon. :\

I spoke too soon. Amazon has them again for $23~. Just ordered mine with my preorder for Zero Collection. Megamix volume 2 is supposed to ship today, so I'm looking forward to that. Volume 3 is available to preorder, with an August ship date. Based on the last two though, I would expect that date to get pushed up another month or two.

My copy of Megamix Vol 2 came today...

I thought the third volume might arrive before the second, but it would appear that it too is doomed to be continuously delayed. Oh well, at least we're getting these books after all these years of waiting.

According to an email I just got from Amazon, regarding a future release date, the 3rd Volume will be available sometime between November 2010 - January 2011.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

The year was 1999. I can still remember sitting in my high school cafeteria reading Rockman Remix and Rockman Megamix 1 while mindlessly scarfing my school lunch of pizza and tater tots. They were the first Rockman mangas that I owned. I wonder if I'll always remember the way it felt my first time reading them.

Gigamix v1 is already up for preorder on Amazon. Next time I order some manga, I'll be putting in my order.

I must say, Megamix is a fun little manga. The stories are all one-shot comics, but they're long enough and well written. The art is good. Oddly, the thing that most stands out to me is Duo in the short one-page bits at the back of v2 and v3. BE CAREFUL KIDS, OR DUO WILL COME FOR YOU TOO!

Definitely one of the best comics I have ever read, but it´s a shame that other good looking and interesting mangas like Rockman 8 or Rockman&Forte made by Koji Itzuki have no localization yet.
