A.K.A., the logo for the original Mobile Suit Gundam.
I don't know that much about Gundam, but I can say that the Mega Man side is spot on. From my point of view, this is a very clear indication on how the various Gundam series tie together, and where to start if I wanted to watch them!

The lack of G Gundam is distressing; however, I believe it qualifies as similar to the arcade fighters (power battles/power fighters) which were just an over-the-top fanservice which to this day has a cult following. I love the Turn A/Legends comparison though; that's spot on.

I find the lack of Gundam Wing distressing. Though it seems to fit the early X series--when it was less dark and more full of camp and Ho Yay.
Gundam Wing is often considered a "cliff notes" to the UC series, basically Gundam, Zeta, ZZ, and CCA condensed into a single show...
