Topic: New Mega Man Ongoing Comic From Archie!
I have never cared much for alternate covers, nor Sonic's comics, so why I feel tempted is beyond me... yet, I do. Strange.
As a follow-up to my previous message on the subscription offers, from now until Monday the 18th (included), you can use the promo code SNOW13 at checkout to save 25% off any purchase over 50$ at Archie's store.
This brings the one-year subscription to all three series to about the price of a yearly Mega Man subscription + 8 individual Sonic issues. Pay roughly the same, get more content... I like this. I might forget about the alternate covers pack and go with that instead.

You have convinced me. Take my money, Archie. We all know you were gonna get it anyway.
EDIT: OHO, what's this?

It worked for me, I just placed my own order. Try again?

Okay, for whatever reason it worked now (but not when I tried early this morning). Oh well, long as it works. Thanks Doc.
It took MegaMan all of 3 panels to beat up AirMan (Or, really, anyone) and move on.
Pass.
Back from another thousand-year hibernation.
So did everybody with a subscription already receive #23? I have not, not yet at least. But I did get the pre-crossover issue of Sonic Universe. Wondering if I need to write, again.
I received #23 about two weeks ago, I believe, then Sonic Universe #50 (super special doubled size extravaganza issue) a few days later.
My local post office just went through some rather heavy restructuring, maybe the delivery of these things will improve for me!

Just got the pre-WC StH, still no Mega Man 23.
Hmmm, I need to update my address, but there's only one issue left. I don't see anywhere to do it online...
I got MM #24, so I finally had to do something and emailed Archie about the missing issue. They responded same day and the next week #23 arrived in a nice sturdy bubble wrapped envelope. I wish the comics would always come shipped so nicely--heck, I'd pay a bit more for it! But anyway, I was happy they resolved things so tidily. I was worried if I emailed them earlier that they'd tell me just to keep waiting, but I think now that I know which order the books release in, it'll be easier to keep track of which they send and when I should receive them by.
We're getting X!
I repeat: we're getting X!!
Only as a back-up feature to the main comics for now, but if the demand proves to be there, we're looking at a full-blown spin-off. Whoo!

I hope it branches off sooner rather than later. I'd love to have 2 monthly comics to subscribe to again (sorry Sonic, outside of Worlds Collide you're just not my cup of tea).
If anyone else subscribed or renewed their subscriptions last year with the Worlds Collide offer I posted about, you're about due for renewal. My own letter came in last week.
With a bit of convenient timing, Archie has a promotion going this week to save 15% off subscriptions. Use the code SUB15 at checkout up to this Friday (the 7th, included) to save a bit of money! If your own expiry date is a few months off, you can still go through the process and get your current sub extended by an extra year.

If someone reading this wanted to catch up to the Worlds Collide subseries (the Mega Man / Sonic crossover), the current Humble Bundle for books is all about Archie comics!
By paying $15 or more, you get the whole set of comics, including the 12 issues of the crossover, in digital format. If you have something comfortable to read them on, like a tablet, this is definitely a great deal. It's also a nice way to ease yourself in the series if you were curious to give it a shot. The promo will be running for the next two weeks!

Is anyone still reading the comic and checking on this topic?
I received and read the last issue (#48) tonight, and the ending absolutely blew my mind.

I did not like the issue after this too much, but I am interested in having a separate Mr. X character who isn't Wily and how that plays out will be interesting.
Well, crap.
A "temporary" hiatus sounds like it might very well be final, to me. I don't like this news at all.
That comic has been a lifeline for me toward the franchise. It's a good thing that Capcom is apparently set to resume production on a few fronts, because otherwise things would be looking very grim.

Some have suggested they set Mega Man aside to focus money and attention on reboots of Kevin, Jughead, and B&V. I don't know what to make of it either way, but I'm rather irritated at myself.
I bought the $160 Worlds Unite set that was supposed to come with a year's worth of Sonic, Sonic Universe, Sonic Boom, and Mega Man all the variant covers for the crossover included because I wanted to support the franchise and maybe help get an X book. I have never cared about variant covers, and I honestly don't care about any of the Sonic franchises but I know people who do so I didn't feel too bad about just jumping all in this time since I had the cash from my tax refund.
So the first thing they did was cancel Sonic Boom. Which, okay, I wasn't that interested, but I did pay for 12 issues + variants of it, so I was a little bit concerned that I had been ripped off. They made a blanket PR statement that said you could use it towards other subscriptions though, so I was like cool, more Mega Man I guess.
Then Mega goes next on the chopping block. Argh, what a waste of money this was. And I was expecting 2, maybe 3 variant covers per issue tops, but it seems like some issues have 6 or more. I never know how many each has so keeping track has been really difficult, but I know there are some that I haven't gotten yet. And Somehow I never got any versions of the Sonic Boom Worlds Unite issue at all, so I emailed Archie's order help. I asked for a list of what I'm supposed to be getting but I've gotten no response yet. Don't know if they're swamped with questions about the cancellations or what, but the whole situation has me feeling like a total fool. Trying to support Mega Man has led me down so many dead end paths, it's like beating my head against a wall.

I contact Archie's support team last week, since I hadn't received any issues for two months and I kept seeing people discus the crossover already. Of course, as if on cue, I received new issues during the last week so that was simply some random delayed processing and mail delivery times. I wrote them back saying "nevermind", and didn't get any feedback related to this.
I also got the Worlds Unite subscription since I was about due for renewal anyway, although only for the regular issues (I didn't even know they had a deal going for the alt. covers). This is the first I read about Sonic Boom getting discontinued, and I'm a bit annoyed that I didn't know of this beforehand. Looking into this some more, they're basically giving the same excuse as they're doing for Mega Man (selling fine, not Capcom/Sega's call), so an internal refocusing is entirely possible. This might explain why I haven't received a single Boom issue since subscribing, too.
At the very least, I found myself actually liking the main Sonic line, so I've got that going for me.
