The future of the oekaki board, Update by Dr. Cossack

I've posted today an announcement on the oekaki board looking at its current state and future options, especially now that Java applets running in the browser are being gradually phased out. I'd appreciate it if all interested artists took the time to read that announcement then shared their thoughts as a comment in this news post.

I built the oekaki board and community for you. Comments and suggestions are always welcome!

well doc, perhaps you can check into oequacki? it's html5, but just in beta, so i don't think it's downloadable for use yet. wouldn't know, i'm on my 3ds, so i can't do much.

there's also animaki which is html5 but animation/sprite based, but i can't get that site to load. it'd be a good addition to an mm fansite methinks...

but i'll draw something soon regardless, if i still can. i hate java & flash, to be honest, and it's a shame there's not an alternative (yet)

I checked on both of these. Oequacki looks quite early in its development, but HTML5 means that it can easily run in any modern browser. Animaki's animation feature is pretty amusing to see in action, too! Unfortunately, neither of these are available for download, so they're not options for us. :( The same thing happened on a few systems I checked on.

If you have any other ideas, I'm all ears. I'd love to see more drawings there, with an active community and all, but I'll all out of idead on my end. The current state of the Mega Man franchise isn't helping.
