Here's something I still can't figure out.
Lan/Netto = Lan/Net
Hub/Saito = Hub/Site
Mayl/Meiru = Mail
Patch/Raito = Patch/?

Why give Raito the name "Patch" if his Japanese name doesn't even follow the previous puns? Or am I missing it? I've got admit I didn't figure out Saito was "Site" until about a day or two ago. :hehe: But still.

Yeah, sure, except that's not what he meant, I don't think. He was talking about the Japanese names, not the American names.

Yeah, basically. What I'm getting at is unless you look at Raito being a pun off "Rate" I don't really see why we had to make a pun off it in the English version. I mean if you look at it, they only make puns off the names that originally have them, usually leaving the rest alone, so I just thought it was odd that they'd go out of their way to make a pun off Raito's name. Though they did alter Dark's name to Dusk, Yamatoman (otherwise translated as Spearman) became Japanman, and I'm sure other such names have been changed as well, so maybe there really isn't a point to it. In which case I'd be sorry I ever brought it up then.

Well, I know for one Raito translates to "Light". However, I have no clue as to how his name would fit into the pun scheme.

Wait... so then Raito Hikari would translate to "Light Light"? Doesn't that seem kinda redundant? I'm not really disagreeing with you about the translation, because I've gotten "light" too, but besides that, it could also translate as "right" as well, making it "Right Light". They might have done that to play off the whole "Dr. Right" thing from the Original series way back in the day. Or at least that's what I was told they had as his original english name. *shrug* I'm not as knowledgeable on the rest of the series as I am with the Battle Network series. Either way, if that were the case it'd seem like they'd be punning his name off the original series rather then the Battle Network series itself, so it just seems odd to me that they'd still go with giving him the name Patch. *shrug* But then I dunno... I guess Capcom just has it's own reasons for making us wonder about all this.

At least they didn't figure out how to make it "Wight Light".

Something has always confused me though, How is it that Higsby's only has rare chips in the ends of the games. I mean, couldn't he keep them until the next game?

I've played the Battle Network series and one of the Starforce games. I'm not impressed, I prefer Mega Man in the side scrolling games. Legends isn't bad, but still not as fun as the side scrollers. Therefore, this is probably my first and last post in this part of the Message Boards. Every where else is just fine.

Well, every time the credits roll, a dimensional rift appears and sucks in all of Higsby's good chips, Lan's new items, MegaMan's upgrades, all of your good battle cips, and a few viruses. Then it spews out a new final boss and a new criminal organization to make the next game. The problem with BN6 was that the rift ate everything.

Oh, and that rift is what we all know and love as a "plot hole."

New crime syndicate? Then how the hell did Nebula get picked twice and WWW 3 times. Gospel was an awesome one though...

Considering that the Star Force games take place 200 years in the future, Lord Wily sure is long dead! The worse we could get would be a descendant of him, but I'm far from convinced that this is a good plot idea.
