I recently had a thought about this, What If...

What if, the data and basics of MMUniverse, are going to be transfered into the MMOnline game. Being able to customize the heroes, levels, and so on. It's not that they possibly cancelled it altogether, they may just fuze the two together.

Is it possible.

Except... this is Capcom we're talking about.

That, and Rockman Online is being developed by NeoWiz under license. I'd be very surprised if they transfered any material between the two groups.

Right now all I'm using my XBox for is MvC3. Without MMU coming out, it feels so... lonely.

IGN: Why was Mega Man Universe cancelled? It seemed pretty far along in production.

Svensson: It was pretty far in production. I will say that we weren't pleased with where it was, collectively at Capcom as a product from a quality standpoint. We opted to say, "You know what, it's probably better that this not come out as opposed to it coming out and not necessarily giving the experience we want people to have." I know that's hard for fans to hear because they want to try it and want to play it, it doesn't matter what it is.

Beyond that, it was a very creative game. It was a very ambitious game for a Mega Man title in terms of what it was trying to accomplish with all the interchanging parts and a very large emphasis on user-created content. I think those are pillars that we want to see carried forward on other titles that we're doing.

Mega Man Universe lives?

:D

Capcom is focusing on PC and PS3 next year, with more titles planned than in previous years. I would take this to mean that they're just emphasizing similar user-generated content features in future titles.

As far as the Mega Man series is concerned, I don't think there's anything at all in development right now, unless you count the MML3 debacle.

What other Capcom franchise can emphasize on interchangeable parts? This really only makes sense for Mega Man, being all about robots.
