Got this today since everyone was raving about it. Didn't really set my hopes high- western settings are always cool, but this was my first rockstar game.

Oh MAN. This is seriously an amazing game that you've either been craving or ignoring. If you're the latter, I'd suggest at least renting it if you own a 360 or PS3.

You play as John Marston, an outlaw-turned-farmer who is summoned by the government to kill off his old gang members, while at the same time kidnapping his family to act as an incentive.

The world is the largest "sandbox" to date, and has several unique tweaks to keep it from being boring. While doing quests, you'll sometimes intercept a crime in progress or save a citizen from a herd of cougars. This doesn't do much when it comes to good guy/ bad guy (You can ignore them without any kind of negative effect) but it makes the world feel more real. The wild animals have the same effect, you'll find deer, bears, cougars, and even smaller things like rabbits and armadillos to hunt. Most of my time playing thus far has actually been hunting- it's definitely fun to shoot something that CAN'T SHOOT BACK every now and then, though naturally animals like bears and cougars can still destroy you.

Teej, which version did you get, we might just have to go multiplayer on this.

As for the rest of the game...WOW...

I really didn't think i'd ever get the feeling GTA3 gave me in a video game ever again. Most sandboxes try and fail to give immersion and choice at the same time (usually it becomes one or the other), but I feel as though this is the first Rockstar game that's given that since GTA3, even if this is far, far, far above that. Honestly, I think this is the only sandbox i'll replay multiple times since the first Mass Effect...it's that good.

I got the PS3 version since I don't have a 360, derp.

John Marston is one of my favorite protagonists ever. He seems like a legitimately nice guy, even if you take the evil route.

I kinda want to play this game. Not really a fan of "sandbox" games but the western setting looks really cool. Not really a whole much else I can contribute to this conversation...

I'll rent this so long as there's no Confederate giant robot spiders.

Man I can't wait to get this game, my little brother told me that when mom gets the money, he's gonna get it on the PS3 so this is gonna be awesome!

I just got it, and I'm amazed they put so much detail on their frikkin teeth LOL It's gross and funny at the same time~! xD

Well bad news, we got screwed on the money now we have to pay, it's sucks, so it's gonna take me longer to get the game. But when I get it I'll be happy... I just don't know when, but I hope it's soon.

Umm, okay if ya say so, I just hope ya didn't use a cheat code to make him drunk. That would be bad.

Not only do you not get trophies, but you also can't save... PERMANENTLY!

I've played the game. I have used cheats. I can save. I can also get trophies.

K, using cheats disables your ability to earn trophies and to save, so it's impossible to screw yourself over. Just shut off the console, start it back up, and reload your good old trustworthy--LEGIT--save and you'll be back in business.

Clearly I must've, so why not elaborate more for me please.

Okay but what if I like having infinite deadeye and such things?
