So I got to thinking today. What is something that we could do as a community that isn't necessarily MC. WELL after some thinking (I know, Mikey thinking. Right?) I thought why not do contest such as having a competition for speed running a game such as Portal. We'd have a set list of people who are competing and we could all jump into our beloved Mumble server (Which I don't know if it still exists or not) and play the game. If someone wanted to they could stream their gameplay, but it wouldn't be required. Of course there would be some sort of reward, it could be physical or in-game (Don't expect much, I'm broke). But this would be more of a thing just to kick back and have fun!

Confirmed Mumble is still in existence!

Well with certain things that we could play could be played on say an emulator, which is free for everyone! and we could make it an open thing to watch and to listen to others play the game, that's where things like Mumble or skype or streaming come into play!

I'm kinda late to the reply for obvious reasons.

The idea of doing events / plays / competition in other games isn't a bad one in itself. A quick poll could highlight which games other community members own, and would be likely to draw in enough people in.

Of course, that would leave some people out, but the same is true for those with slow connections or PCs that can't handle PvP in Minecraft... At the end, you can't always satisfy everyone.

More specifically, Age of Empires II is usually the one we play.

Yes, it's on Steam! It's an older strategy game (1999) that received a modern makeover so it'd run properly on modern PCs. It's got a bit of a learning curve, but I find it to be a lot of fun.
