Imagine.....you paint something on your wall, have two wires connected, then have a light from the painting lighting up the whole room.

It seems man has made an invention that is better than the lightbulb, and is cool, but just might work for a little bit......again.

I\'m not really into new future inventions right now, ever since I just read THAT!Yeah they say it\'s all cool and everything but just watch, once you get you\'ll want your money back.

I\'ve actual seen stuff like this done already believe it or not.

This one guy had a room where the walls themselves where the light, and you could turn the one wall opaque with a switch and have it act as a huge window turned off.

Neat stuff really.:D

YES!! I will paint my cat and wire her up! Nah, I could never do that to an animal, especially one that I\'ve bonded too. Anywho, this is cool! Just think, no more buying lightbulbs when they burn out, and have to replace the ones on the ceiling...ehh...*Shivers* It would be awesom to have light come from the walls, no more struggling for a strong source of light, it\'s everywhere! My only thought is, that would be VERY bright, you wouldn\'t want it covering every inch of the wall. People will have to be smart about it....

What object will go over the head of future generations when they get an idea..?

I can see a lot of artistic possibilities. Like painting a sun that acually glows. This could be pretty cool.

I'm older school than you are.

Again? Where have you seen something before?

And, so, BS, the WINDOW was emitting light, until you turned it opaque? Not getting light without a see-through wall... that sounds a bit odd. Of couurse, we\'re talking about inventions [insert random some-sort-of emoticon here].

And Psycho and Wind, I don\'t think it would be the WHOLE wall. If the light is white, then it will be bright enough (or another color would be your choice), so you wouldn\'t need the whole wall covered with it. Maybe a strip on each wall or something, I don\'t know. Because if it was the whole wall, it would be too hot. They said traffic lights, and traffic lights are still hot. And the wires would go behind the wall. How many wires do you think there are in the wall for like, cable and stuff?

EDIT| Glowing cats... sounds yummy... (no I\'m not going to eat them).

I don\'t know if light coming for the walls will take over the lightbulb. The lightbulb is in so many places that aren\'t coming from the direction of the wall.

Where does the electricity come from?

The way I saw it done was with a sort of luminescent paint that was parily silicon based or something, and when it was subjected to electricity it would glow or emit light or whatever.

The way you power it, is to have a thin sheet of conductive matterial behind it, and you give that a charge so that the other matterial will illuminate.

Kinda easy really, you just need to remember to insulate the other side of the conducter.

Yeah, Samsara, I said the same thing in the topic I found it in. We shouldn\'t start believing this will replace lightbulbs before anybody\'s even heard of it!
