The Battle Network series seems to be a pretty catchy game now a days, I guess its more popular than I thought. I still remember when I MMBN 1, I thought that that was the best game ever untill I got #s 2 and 3 then finally got 4 and was amazed. I dont have 5 yet but when I get it I am getting Double soul for the DS instead.

Yeah! It\'s already out if:

a) You\'re playing it illegally. BAD.

You\'re playing it in Japanese, in which case you\'re probably wasting the entire value of the game by using a FAQ to complete the entire thing. NOT BAD, BUT NOT NECESSARILLY SMART.

Guys, just be patient and play the English version when it comes out. I\'m sure it\'ll be out sometime this summer. They always come out then.

No, and read at your own risk:

Souls are now gone. Instead you now get Cross Styles. In battle, you select a Cross, and you transform into it. Unlike Souls, these have unlimited turns. A cross can only end when you switch to another (5 per version), go into the super form (I\'ll explain that right away) or get hit with a Weakness attack. Once you use up a Cross in either of these manners, you\'re done for the fight. Like Souls, Crosses have their own unique abilities, althought not as good as some of the Souls. They\'re essentially a bit weaker, but sport Style\'s ability to last for virtually forever (provided you don\'t get hit by your weakness.) My personal favourites are AquaCross, TenguCross and DustCross (BROKEN I tells ya.)

As you can see in that image, my Lifesword is dealing 800 damage to Tenguman, because in this game, all the elements have weaknesses:

Heat < Aqua < Elec < Wood < Heat
Sword < Breaking < Aiming < Air < Sword

The Chaos Soul like form is called a Beast Out. Accquired in the game, this form is god awful strong. You get different effects per version, +30 to all non element chips and the ability to charge up any non element chips for a two hit strike. B Button fires a faster than you can imagine NapalmMan gun, all uncharged chips of any kind will cause you to warp over to the enemy and strike.
Beast Outs last 3 turns, and after you use them all up in the same battle, you can go into Beast Over. It\'s Shadow Chaos all over again. Thing is AFTER Beast Over, your HP will drop to 1 and your buster stats are dropped to 1/1/1. Muramasa is good to use after this (not a Mega Chip anymore!). Now, your counter does NOT recharge after fights to 3. Instead you must refill it by battling without using a Beast Out.

Furthermore, if you go into Beast Out while in a Cross, you go into a Beast Cross. This allows you to charge a non element chip for a godly attack. Heat Beast for instance does the Gospel Breath attack for 100+ damage.

Oh and to those who are chip nitpicky. Lifesword and Bodyguard both come in * code.

Long story short:

Crosses = Weaker than Soul Unisons, but last for virtually forever, like Styles
Beast Outs = Stronger than some Chaos Unisons, weaker than others. Gregar has brute power, Falzar has tactics.

Oh, and the chips in this game you get are amazing.

Bug Rise Sword (Greiga)-Changes your charge shot to DarkSword. Each use will eat up one BugFrag from your inventory.

FlashBombs-Bomb type chip that stuns, pierces Invis

Killerman/Judgeman Navichips- * Coded Time Freezing chips with the ability to super stun, just like Flashman!

To name a few!

All Level 1 Navichips come in * Code, this is vital for the Leader\'s Raid PA. Double Hero needs not this.
