In starwars ther are jedi and the sith. And they use a lightsaber. Others use a blater. Tell me what weapon would you use? I would have a lightsaber so I could block the lasers and cut the gun in half.:D

True, but no-one he killed was aremd with a Lightasabre.

The only exeption to this is when in RotS, the Jedi were killed by the blaster-weilding clone troopers.

Another good point, but if the Jedi or Sith is well enough trained they are able to reflect the blster fire back at the soldier so that means there is never a safe distance. Also a Jedi or Sith have range abilities such as: force lightning, force grip, saber throw, force push, pull, and choke. All can be done at a distance.

But remember, most of the Jedi that were killed had been taken by surprise. After all, they had just been betrayed by their closest comrades. And they couldn\'t have sensed it because the troopers switched sides at that exact moment.

But EP.3. THE JEDI were caught of gurd.wene order 66 was ishued. They did not know what hit them. AND if you read the books like i do you would know the clones were trained in SECRET in case the jedi did turn.

I\'m pretty sure that most Star Wars books are approved by Lucas. Not sure if that makes them canon, though.

Everyone will go to the lightsaber because people like swords. The thing is that no normal person has the disipline or dextarity to weild a lightsaber. You would have to be a highly trained martial arts master to be able to.

The blaster on the other hand could be used with less disipline and would be easier for normal person (like us all) to use.

I\'m all for lightsabers. I\'ve always thought they were kick ass. Plus, how much fun would it be to fight with one of those?

I\'ll go for lightsabers becouse if you get duels or double sided they own.
