*Originally created by Mega X.EXE, this topic didn’t get the chance to reach its full potential, and so I decided that this particular thread should be brought back to life. The only difference between this and the original thread is, instead of just giving a single person advice on dating, we can all discuss the subject of “love,” no matter if a single member is looking for advice or if all members would like to have general discussions with one another.
-----

I suppose since I brought this topic back, I’ll start by asking for everyone’s opinion about this situation:

Coming from a family that has tons of old fashioned values, I’ve always been told by my “old school” mother that it is never a good idea for a young lady to chase after a man romantically. The logic for this is that men like to be the pursuer, not the one being pursued-- when women go after a man, she kills all enjoyment for the him (and this is because in most cases, that particular woman who chases him isn’t really his preferred choice). I tend to think that my mother gives out excellent advice (I learnt most of what I know from her). Though I do listen to this bit of advice on relationships, I never follow it-- I always go after the man I want, and eventually, I always get him. Though I do get my man in the end, I really can’t say that my relationships were anywhere near perfect. :P

After saying that, allow me to pose this question to you all: Do you think it is okay for a lady to romantically pursue a guy? (To broaden this a bit, here are some things to think about: Has this situation ever happened to you? If you are male, would you prefer if a girl were to ask you out; for females, would you go after a male and tell him how you feel about him?)

I was wondering were that PM was going!

As for this situation, I love it! Even though I will follow a few girls to the end of the earth... I sure is fun to have 3 girls fighting behind your back on who\'s your lab partner. Not to metion...

I always use that as the element of \"jealousy\" when trying to score on my crush :D

Yep, I\'m sorta evil... but, Hey, It works!

I apologize for my absence, however, it will be a bit longer. Those who wish to contact me, I have updated my email and AIM info. Thanks.

Oh boy i really don\'t know much about love.

Hmm about that question:
I think everyone can pursue someone if he/she has real feelings about her/him. It is only the question will he/she accept? But please don\'t pursue anyone if he finds it anoying if he finds out...

I don\'t have anyone in my life and i don\'t expect one either that\'s because i\'m not really a type for it. I\'m just a hard working geek, nerd, the know it all, extreme gamer. When i was 4 i already became a nerd, i thought of many things in life, i learned a bit english when i was 6.

But if someone said that she likes me or maybe a date then i cannot speak and i\'ll problably have one of my deceases soon after that. But if i could speak i\'ll problably be dumped so i will never find such things.
And most people has really damaged my future.. I am still being teased and that is also a cause that i don\'t really feel any love from anyone..
My life got a little better when i learned a very good skill (hacking). I also am not really in contact with people or atleast where i\'m sitting now..

So love is\'nt a real option in my life and i\'ve already stopped thinking about it.. Until now.. I think i have to start thinking about this one again...

I had a girlfriend in first grade, and she used to chase me around all the time............she even gave me my first ( and so far, only) kiss on the lips.........She moved away, though.......I still think about her to this day..........

and, a second time in 4th grade, and this girl was my buddy, too..........we used to do everything together in school.........she, unfortunately, also moved away to a distant land...........I guess I don\'t have much love luck......

I suppose It\'s alright for a lady to chase after a man, just as long as she doen\'t try to, say, gag and bind the man in a chair and takes some dirty pictures so that they\'ll be together forever.......that, and as long as she isn\'t a ditz when she\'s doing it........:D

ProtoStar, I also have your problem. I can\'t give any sound advice, but I think you should stand up and say what you need to say before it\'s too late. (Boy, am I a Hypocrate! :D ) I made that mistake too many times............................

I am currently in love with a girl who will remain nameless, but I\'ve been after her since 3rd grade.........that\'s the only girl who will look at me and talk to me, except for another one who likes me too, I think........It looks like we have a love triangle, here people..........help me........

Reality swirled in a wholly blue manner, revealing absolutely nothing of merit. Things flashed madly in and out of existence like some entirely other sort of phenomena. If so, then Splash Woman in general does not qualify as, well, human.

Here\'s an easier way to go about things:

1. Be spontanious! Join in on peoples conversations. Soon enough you\'ll be so used to that, it will become second nature (IceMan.EXE\'s personal approval)

2. Join Drama Club! It helps you feel more confortable in front of people judging you, and helps you make friends ( IceMan.EXE\'s personal approval)

3. Become friends with all of her friends! Helps you relate to her, and her friends will always tell her you\'re such a nice guy. (IceMan.EXE\'s personal approval)

Eh, I\'m too scared shitless to say it. I can\'t breathe when I see her and think about it. I start to hyperventalate, and then I sort\'ve pass out........

Sorry, I\'m sort\'ve a downer, maybe I should\'ve told you that.....:D

Thanks, Iceman, that\'s a bit better than \"Just tell her damn it!\". I was never a artsy guy, though, but I did join the robotics team....... and I already know a lot of people, and I have you guys to talk to....I think....... and Her friends aren\'t all too social, and I don\'t see any of them anymore..........maybe she\'s in the same boat I am....

and what about that love triangle? Still waiting for advice............

This seems like a lack of confidence to me, however don\'t overdo it... only I\'m allowed to be egotalist:P

Here\'s my problem:
A few days ago there was a dance, and a girl asked me to dance with her. I didn\'t know her, but I said yes to be polite. The next day I recieve countless e-mails and AIM\'s from a mystery name (and a friend that I told everyone in the chatroom about). I recently found out that they were the one from the dance, and she\'s really obsessed (I\'m talking my picture is in her locker....ew). So here\'s my question, if a near stanger is crushing on you... and nearly being destructive by it, how do you kindly put her back in her place?

Hmm interesting problem you have Iceman.EXE...

Well if you could just tell her that it was just a dance or anything and that she should stop it because it is annoying.

Ok ok this happened to me before (but not in a dance she just looked at me and got my e-mail from my friends and just SPAMMED my way to hell) but this answer i gave did NOT go to well.....:( (i got a heavy beat up from her friends.

Anyway i just got scared then and blocked everything that i could find in her profile (my way of paying back the favour and you can see it includes hacking). That\'s one that i remember.. Luckly i did never see her again (problably very pissed or she thought it was a other \"friend\").

That happened to me before but it wasn\'t that long ago. It started last year and she knew some of my friends and sent letters through them (that\'s usealy my job for my friends). I didn\'t know her but didn\'t want to break her heart (and so she\'d stop annoying the hell out of me) so I said I\'d go out with her (big mistake there). Because of this it got worse.

As for your problem, just find some other guy that\'s even more \"likable\" for her and then leave them alone.

I currently am in love with a girl in grade 9 and I did go out with her for about 2 months. When she broke up with me ,(were still friends) I suddenly wanted her back what should I do. Forget her and move on. If she won\'t even talk to you, then you know that she\'s a Grade-A bit<#. find someone else. Either that, or talk with her and say that you don\'t like her friends. Or make her jealous. That always works. I personally think you are way too young, and I\'m in Grade 9 myself......

Orbie: but WHY?

Phatman: I got my hand caught in the radiator for 12 years......

Lavos: ouch.....

Then again, you can just blackmail her, but you need some training.........:D
