for his 60th birthday, George W. Bush recieved a gift from Nintendo, A DS lite and a copy of Brain Age/Brain Training

i can�t show you a picture here, but i can give you a link to the site where i found it, it�s Dutch but a picture says more than a thousend words

I checked to verify if this wasn't a hoax, but several other news sites are reporting this as well. Here's an English article with a transcript of the birthday letter.

Reality swirled in a wholly blue manner, revealing absolutely nothing of merit. Things flashed madly in and out of existence like some entirely other sort of phenomena. On a whim, Kurt Vonnegut imploded, taking a sizeable hunk of Massachusetts with him. However, seeing as Massachusetts wasn't entirely sure it existed, the chunk wasn't all that big.

Looking deeper than many hater talk on the internet and here, I wonder what Hillary Clinton, Jack Thompson, or any other anti-game activists thinks about this. If Bush did play it and stated some sort of interest or support for the system/game...

Too bad Nintendo had to give him a dumb remake of a remake.

Erm, what "remake of a remake"? As far as I know, Brain Age is a brand new game...

For the DS (all the ones I know):

"Brain Age." 5/19/05
"Big Brain Academy." 6/30/05
"Kahashima Ryuuta Kyouju Kanshuu: Motto Nou o Kitaeru Otona DS Training" (Yup, that's the whole title... ^^; ) and "Training 2." 12/29/05 (I can't figure out the real release date for the second game...)

Okay, I lied, now that I see the dates in front of me. How am I suppose to keep up with games that came out the same year. ^^;

I doubt those are the only brain training that "measures brains" (ahh, IQ Qube... you were the first for me to play...). Japan is crazy about these types of games. I've been reading that there's now a movement for the elderly to buy a DS as prescribed by their doctors. ^^;

That'd be missing the whole point: Nintendo is currently pushing it's Touch Generation series to non-gamers. Those games are especially set for those who don't play video games much, or never touched a gaming system. As such, Brain Age or Big Brain Academy works, but New Super Mario Bros. is definitely out!
