Well, as we all know, Dusk is the operator of ShadowMan, as told in BN5. But the person referred to as the navi's operator in BN2 was "Dark." Seeing as Dark Scyth from BN6:CBG says he learned his navi deletion skills from Dusk, could he have had anything to do with BN2? Like a class - you had to delete a gang, he could have had to hack the mother computer of Electopia. Opinions, anyone?

I always chalked it up to bad translation on CoA's part.

Of course a catch with that is that the face of the operator was indeed Dusk's...
Was he taking the hits for his student? Or was he simply going under the naame "Dark?" Who knows?
I stick with the idea that Dark was the operator, under Dusk, in BN2.

I credit it due to name changes made in BN6-like AquaMan becoming SpoutMan, for example.

This is an interesting theory but I am pretty sure Dusk was the opperator.

Yeah - who knows: his real name could've been "Shady Blade."

KillerMan -> EraseMan (?why?)

My theory still sticks in my mind...

Obiously, it's not a really official source, but a picture gallery has this for ShadowMan in BN2: http://www.rockman-exe.com/rockman/gallery/displayimage.php?album=6&pos=22
The guy in front is definitely the first Dark, translated as Dusk.

I don't think I see any consistency errors, really.

Also, Killer was probably changed to Erase to get "kill" out of kids' heads.

If they thought the name KillerMan was bad for kids, look at how Bass treats Mega! .....oh well.

Yeah, I guess it was weird how that Dark/Dusk thing turned out. I don't know... Something's still strange about that fitting together that way...
Oh, maybe it's coincidence. Anyone else?

I'll bet on a translation goof. It's happened before. "Dusk" and "Dark" are close enough in meaning that they could both come from the same name.

well....I guess if you think about it logically its possible but not very likely sence there is no evidence to support it.

I like to remain idle-brained of any inconsistencies of translated Megaman games.

I often think it'd be easier to start toting around a katana and a paper fan, and to not call him Megaman but ROCK-KUN!

Simply too many unforgiveable translation errors and name changes in MMBN games for me to comment on the most prevalent theory. Although there probably is some unrevealed story reason for this one. (Just a hunch)

"After years of debating after releasing MegaMan Battle Network, Camcom reached the resolution that to save time resources so that they could throw Inafune an amazing pity-party due to the fact that the X Series did not go his way, they would cut their intelligence from the North American Battle Network games. Whether there really was any intelligence to cut remains unknown... [see p.2A - Pity-Party]
