Yeah. Apparently some scientists are attempting to build some sort of 'Black Hole Generator' or some sort of sci-fi thing like that.
It says 'probability of destroying the world is very low'.
If they have to say that...that just makes me REALLY worried.

There’s always a problem of black holes either to grow or to explode, but really, there’s hardly any reason to worry. You’ll need a whole lot of energy to create one (most likely the magnitude that human inventions can’t mimic).
If we are able to create and control one, though, that can solve a critical problem in the world. Infinite energy generator, anyone? I’ve dreamed of having a black hole in my closet. ^^
Different dimensions don’t interest me. If dimensions were separate for a reason, it's probably not good to mess around with them.
Scientists have created mini black holes before. They were the size of a few atoms, and evaporated in less than 1% of a second. There's nothing to worry about, here. A black hole needs a LARGE amount of mass to be working, more than what is available on Earth.

All I can honestly think about here is the movie "The One". I don't want some psycho killer me from another dimension coming to ice me. That's scary, man. Well, in the context/meaning of 'dimension' as Kevin stated, there is a theory our universe, though perhaps just on a really small, sub-atomic level, may be 11-dimensional.

InactiveOkay everyone, what happens when idiot humans up and mess with other dimensions and forces beyond our ultimate control? I really don't care how low the planet destruction probability rate is - it could be 1 in 99,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999 ,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999 and I still wouldn't support it. As much bad as we've done, if we're gonna die, it's not gonna be our doing.
But of course, I agree with Doc that even if this does go, it's been done before and is safe (sorta). I've got enough to worry about, save this. I'm not losing a wink over it.
Please, don't integrate politics into this. Even if you dislike the people at the head of our government, they do deserve a good amount of respect - when's the last time you had to go to 2 different countries for a bumload of meeetings in one day? I'm not gonna say my opinion, it's my business, but let's let that be settled. [/serious discussion]
