I know it's not a VR. That was my entire point, is that it's NOT.

And no, for the touch screen, I was talking about, like, the chatroom. #mmpc.

People said what abuot the NES and PlayStation gun? The NES gun only ended up being used for Duck Hunt, and I dind't even know PlayStation HAD a gun. Most accessories that are alternate types of controllers, unless they're simply more advanced or turbo controllers, flop.

That binocular thing just sounds awkward. Like sterring with your head O_O?

I di dnot say the tilt was new, and I meant the pinball games for GBA, not actual machines.

Same thing with the baseball game. I was talking about the systems they sell, which you hook up to the T.V., swing the bat, and play. And I also said those made more sense to have such a function.

The very worst part about the Wii, is the difference between gaming on different systems. One thing about the industry I could not stand, is the way each game released over multiple systems is altered without being re-released. So even if you already have a copy of the game, in most cases there is SOMETHING changed so you still don't feel like you have every game in a particular series, for example, and then you have to waste money on another copy of the SAME game just because the developers wnated to chnage something for the system. That problem will be a lot wors with the Wii around, because they cannot design games in quite the same way for regular systems.

Quote:
And so you know... that's how consoles market. You don't just market to avid gamers. You market to MULTIPLE sources. That's how you grab new customers and make more money. Nintendo's done THAT better than Sony and Microsoft combined since the beginning.

Once again, that is exactly what I said. So far you have not said anything against me other then the fact that you like the idea of the Wii. I am an "avid gamer," yet even I do not like the "innovation" of the system. Only EXTREME gamers will be intrested. If you've never played an MMO FPS, you probably won't be intrested in the Wii. I have yet to find a single person IRL, besides the two I know that go here, that likes the idea of the Wii. And that doesn't just include people from Alabama... as a matter of fact it includes a couple of avid gamers too, such as FishBowL and Brandom from my college. So, regardless of what you or I think of the system, that is why I think it will not do well.

And yeah, Nintendo's done better... only because they make easier games that are not childish (Mario and Zelda, for example, compared to all the FPS/military games on Sony).

You forgot to mention Hogan's Alley, which also relied on the Zapper.

That just goes to show how different people have different contacts with different interests. :) I know a few people who happen to think that this is a great move from Nintendo, and I'm not talking about Internet contacts alone. In fact, I don't know anyone who says that this is a BAD idea. Most people just don't really care.

What I mant by MMO FPSs, is that only extremely avid gamers usually play them.

And Hogan's Alley... was that game widely used? Was not saying it was not compatible... was talking more about actual usage.

I've seen plenty of copies around, and Nintendo made several references to that title in the WarioWare games and others, so I'd guess that it was pretty widely known about, yes. I've played it personally back when the NES was still the hot item to have.

God, I am sorry but you are obviously on some sort of bad acid hit when you post here.

The Wii is the best thing to happen to the market in a long time. It makes use of the ability of tilt, angle, pitch, etc. to make the game work. It's kind of creepy but at the SAME TIME extremely badass. Not to mention the 360's previous history, and the PS3's shitiness. I'll pass on the bricks, give me the 3 DVD sizer.

And yes, Hogan's Alley was around almost everywhere. I remember bringing my NES to his house cause he hadn't used a zapper before. It was fun stuff. So yeah, it's popular and still awesome.

Umm, I believe that the PS3 will dominate, just because the XBox 360 crashed and burned. They really lost alot of customer base on that one! And yes, I realize that the PS3 is going to cost me an arm and a leg, but it will be worth it! The graphics! No more CD Tray! w00t!!

The Wii is an interesting concept. I think alot of parents would get this for their lazy children. To at least get them active when their being lazy. (Interesting concept?)

Yeah, that's my two cents. And I never had a problem with my PS2. I just clean it every once in awhile, and it runs like a champ! =P

Well I really just had no idea if that game was popular or not.

And Phat, you almost prove my point... only a heavy gamer would even think about those things!

I think maybe it should be optional... have a regular controller and then the Wii controller, so the people can set an option of which style they'd prefer... except of course on games that can only work with the new style.

Newsflash: Only the one controller will work for the games. The only thing they're using the regular controller for (It exists, trust me) is for the Virtual Console. From what I've heard the controller is easy to hold and use, so I'm not worried at all about it.

And anyone that is deciding on buying a system should be a hardcore gamer to begin with. All these dumbass kids buying it to play Madden piss me off.

They do have a normal controller sold seperately. Also, the Wii will be compatible with a GCN controller if you play a GCN game on the Wii.

I'll most likely buy a Wii and a PS3, so I don't really care which one comes out on top (unless the 360 suddenly becomes uber popular and pwns everything...then I'll have a problem). But yeah, in the short term, I expect the Wii to win, but in the long run, PS3 will most likely win.

Yeah, though PS3 is pretty damn expensive, the PS1 and PS2 usually had games I like. So I might buy one...but first I'm getting the Wii. For Brawl, you know.

Once the PS3 hits the 199USD mark, it'll fly off the shelves like the PS2 and PS1 did back in the days. Expect a smaller version of the PS3 a year before it's life is over.

The thing is, the console will probably reach that price eventually, but that won't be more than a few months before the Playstation 4 is set to be released. The components inside will keep the price high for a long time.
