I knew that it was only a matter of time...
Somebody has stepped up and created a Windows driver for the Wiimote, allowing it to work with pretty much any game! The software GlovePIE now supports a basic use of the remote. It works by mapping the buttons of a controller to keys on the keyboard, so that any game supporting the keyboard will be playable using the controller. I tried it out to play an NES-like game, and it works very well! I'm pretty impressed so far, and this is only the beginning.
Note that you need to have Bluetooth support on your computer is order for this to work, since the Wiimote is a standard Bluetooth device. Some computers have it built-in, like my laptop, while others require an extra piece of hardware (often in the form of a USB key). Also, what is working right now are the buttons only: the remote's movement isn't been detected properly at this time.
