I think that the ending to BN6 was a little bit less than it should have been for a series-closing game. The last bosses were both super-easy, even when they're upgraded they're not too bad, and the closing events are a bit tacky (Lan moves, then moves right back - WHAT!?). I was expecting more of a challenge and an actually good last area and final boss(es). I mean, WWW didn't even have their own base other than the expo, which was already there and they just used it, although Wily did have it made. I would have liked a real evil base that's not across the street from the good guy's house, that was dark-colored and looked real cool on the inside, like Epsilon's base in CM. And the last are didn't even have an original look - they just recycled the looks of the past areas. And the plot of Wily was easily predictable, and the last boss battle background was less than bad - it was just the area's background. It moved slowly and didn't do the battle's pace any justice...

I want to see just one more game that gives the series a better end, but that will never happen... :(

There's no point to whine and complain about it, the series is over, it's been determined, the fact is, as linear as the plot was, this is Megaman as in, obviously linear plot...

Really, I think that says it all here.

In terms of gameplay, yes. As far as story, I'd disagree. I think the Cybeasts were a good choice to end the series on. I mean, those are the last remnants of the old Internet. Much like Alpha. It's symbolic of how, by defeating the Cybeasts, the old villains and great evils of the past are gone, and people are now able to start anew (although if we took 3 out of the plot line, and tacked it on to the end of the series instead, I think that would work a little better, in fact. Editing the epilogue out of 6, of course.)

A symbol of how the syndicated have become such a part of the world? With the old bases, the impression of being secluded and seperate was given. But with this low-key base, it blurs things. Giving it an edge of uncertainty, much like with Colonel/Baryl being a villain, even though we know he was a hero in BN5.

We move in circles,
Balanced all the while,
On a gleaming razor's edge.

A perfect sphere,
Colliding with our fate,
The story ends where it began.

BN3 did a better job, IMO.

Yeah, I guess you're right on most calls there. BN3 really did have a great ending. I think a different choice of program should have represented the old Internet - the Cybeasts were too Pokémon-esqe for me to enjoy in a MegaMan game, especially when one is an obvious bring-back of a last bost from before (and I liked Gospel better too).

I've thought about the blurring effects of the expo site base, but after things like the Kotobuki building in BN2, Wily's base in BN3, and Regal's factory in BN5, I guess they could have done a much better job with making an actually threatening enemy base - not a balloon-filled happy place.

That's part of the deception. It doesn't look threatening at all.
