Just curious if anyone has ever played this game before. It's more commonly referred to as SRO. It is a MMORPG and it originates from some Chinese stuff. It's free, but requires downloading. The map is relatively large, its split into three pretty distinct areas as far as I can see, each separated by a large river. Characters can be leveled up to level 80, though that takes quite a long time... The site can be found here: http://www.silkroadonline.net/SilkroadOnline_Europe.asp If you're looking for something to play, its pretty fun. Fills up the time and I find it much more enjoyable than Runescape. I've been told its sort of a cheaper and worse graphics version of WoW and Guild Wars. Been playing for about a week and I have roughly 32 hours on it and my character is level 18. Anywho, thought I'd share a game I enjoy.

I used to play, but then I realized that it was all grinding. All of it.

It's that the case for almost all MMORPGs? ^^;

Not all... Ragnarok Online is more like "Sit in Prontera and agitate the Vendor PCs for fun when you get bored of party-grinding."

I tried to download this game before (when my internet sucked) but it didn't work. I have better internet now though, and I completely forgot about this game. Perhaps it will tide me over until i get my new computer and can play Guild Wars...I'm a MMORPG maniac.

I'll think about it, I'mm too stingy to pay for an MMORPG, so I don't play things like WoW or everquest 2, but i'll look this up.

Hey beautiful people, you're better off trying to e-mail me than message me on here.

I've given Silkroad more than a few tries, but it never stuck. Yeah, it's a free mmorpg, but there's better ones. The lag in the cities was terrible for me, even with a good machine. If you want a free MMO, here's my suggestions:

-Best Graphics/Look - Rappelz
-Best "Korean" game - Scions of Fate
-Best MMORPG - Archlord

Archlord is $20 retail, but they dropped the monthly fees in favor of a point store to buy ingame items. It's Korean as well, but aren't all the half decent free MMOs? At any rate, it has enough unique features to make it stand above the others that I've played. Go ahead and try the trial, you'll enjoy it.

If you're going to take the plunge and get a pay2play mmo, take advantage of the trials they give you. Play as MUCH AS YOU CAN to make sure you like it. On several occasions, I played the trial for a day or so before buying the game and subscribing, only to quit before the free month came up, or give up tweaking when half the zones don't run smoothly on ANY computer (WoW and EQ2 respectively). FFXI has stuck with me 3 years now, and I'm just now getting frustrated with it.
