This is something that crossed my mind not too long ago: if you could live in the Mega Man world, in any series and time period, where would you go? Would you go see a mad scientist try to take over the world with eight master robots? Would you go see the birth of reploids? Would you visit the utopia of Neo Arcadia? Or would you go somewhere else?

As far as I'm concerned, the answer is obvious: I'd go for the Battle Network world, in 20XX, without hesitations. There are no major world threats besides the usual crime syndicate coming up once in a while, no ravaged Earth to survive in, no aliens trying to take you over when you're depressed... Having, finally, a decent portable computer making it easy to schedule events or to get you online from pretty much anywhere would be great. That's not to mention having a reliable, digital friend ready to help you whenever you need it.

Of course, viruses can be annoying, but it's not like we don't have those already... No technology is perfect, but we're usually good enough at getting around the problems!

What about you? Where would you live?

I was gonna say Star Force era but then I realized that it's not much different other than a few technological advancements....So...Battle Network, definatly.

I'm with you, Doc. That plus I just enjoy the generally-lighthearted feel of the setting. Granted, the endgame always darkens up a bit, but it's still nice.

Hmm. I'm not afraid of hardship. I'd live in the recovering world of Mega Man ZX and ZX: Advent, where humans and reploids take on the attributes and virtues of fallen heroes with the power of the Biometal.

1. I sure am afraid of hardship. Unneccessary hardship, that is.

2. There is a very high chance that you will not be awesome enough to wield a Biometal.

Of course, if you could replace that lame excuse for the new Leviathan and Phantom...

You're NOT Ryu Hayabusa, okay, Siarnaq? YOU'RE NOT A NINJA.

The Battle Network one, definately. It'd be kinda hard to adapt to the other worlds and times, and life would be even more hard. As for the rest, my reasons are quite the same as yours Doc.

I'd prefer the ZX timeline. Battle Network has too many kids running around trying to save the world.

Battle Network

no big trouble each year, only the possible destruction of the Net...

but your own Navi sounds great

Legends Series for me. You get explore ruins of ancient civilizations and find relics and such. A trusty navigator would be provided, plus an airship. You could make a pretty good living selling some of them artifacts, provided your airship is always in top condition.

As for those pirates, with a trusty Mega Buster, and various spare arm attachment that include explosives, heavy artillery and advanced technological firearms, I wouldn't have too many worries.

My only real concern would be crazy bureaucrat models and ancients trying to destroy the world or simply trying to wipe out all humanity. But if a simply digger can defeat them, (Mega Man), how hard could it be?

Classic - Seems like a pretty nice world. Wily often causes havoc, but Megaman always takes him down before any real damage is done. Robots would help with development and with maintaining nature, so long as they aren't blowing stuff up.

X - Really bad idea. X and Zero, even as awesome as they are, can barely handle all the problems going on. Even early on in the series, before cataclysmic circumstances start occuring, they still have way too much to handle. War is not a good place to live in.

Legends - Seems like a really nice place. I personally would stay away from digging, as I'm not a fan of having body parts removed by large killer robots. I do really enjoy the idea of having an airship. Besides, Megaman seems to take care of the really nasty problems before too many people are even aware of them. Honestly, the Bonnes usually do more damage to everyday people than the actual villains.

Battle Network - A fairly nice world, I suppose. Frankly, I think I'd always get lost on the net. And it seems like world-threatening events, extreme panic, and random terrorist net-attacks seem to happen far too frequently.

Zero - Eh... Same as, and probably even worse than the X series. Especially after the shuffle in power in Neo Arcadia.

Star Force - Not sure yet. At this point, my Battle Network thoughts seem to cover it fairly well.

ZX - Seems like a rather crazy time period, but certainly a little bit calmer than the X or Zero series.

Overall, I think I'd go with Legends. Mostly for the airships.

Battle Network/ Star Force

I'd pick the star force time era, but overall that Megaman world. Reason being, if you lived out in the country nobody would bug you. Viruses only attack big cities...except Yoka...

I think I'd go with the X timeframe... I think it would be awesome to get to know a Reploid, but Zero/ZX is so... post-apocalyptic... But yeah. I've always had a thing for the idea of sentient machines.

It's a machines world
Don't tell me I ain't got no soul
When the machines take over
It ain't no place for rock and roll

I'd live in the Original Megaman's timeline. Totally~ I assume I'd be chilling with the robotic penguins in Gemini Man's stage, amongst the crystal structures..

*swoon*

In the beginning or the end of the line for me. The Original series has that living-in-safe-times feel. Doctor Wily really isn't much of a threat compared to the X series Sigma or the EXE series WWW group. I think it would be kinda enjoyable to turn on a TV to news and see Megaman foil another of Wily's half-baked schemes of taking over the world. ^^ Robots are more on the helpful for everyday tasks side than in other series where they are mostly used for battling.

If not the Original then in the Legends series. Ruins to explore and flying ships. Enough said.
