Is anybody else excited about this localization of a port of a remake of a port? Originally for Sega Saturn, then ported to PSX, now remade for PS2 and Wii, Baroque is a unique looking dungeon crawler with a surreal atmosphere. Comes out Tuesday.

Not on my end. I haven't found a single dungeon crawler that doesn't turn out to be awfully repetitive quite fast, so I'm not really interested in that genre of games.

I'll stick to Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, thanks.

Saw it before, and slightly peaked my interest. If it gets decent reviews I might give it a rental, but otherwise, meh.

So far, Nintendo Power gave it a whopping 28/100.

Now, I haven't subscribed to NP since the very early GameCube days. Still, I don't really remember them saying that anything was BAD. Most magazines these days won't give out anything below a 5, unless it's broken. Stuff like unpolished independent games gets 2s and 3s, and those are really niche games anyway (Etrom for example).

At any rate, Baroque is an atmosphere game, unlike anything I've ever seen. I've actually played a bit of the original, and it can't be THAT bad. If you like surreal games at all, look into it. It's definitely more subtle and eerie than anything of recent years, so it should be a refreshing break from modern cliches.
