Hey guys long time no see, I can't wait for the Iron Man videogame to come out on the PS2 in 3 more days! It's coming along with the movie and both look great to me. I hope at least some of you agree with me. Anyways yeah, I'm back, Iron Man is awesome and... Well... That's about it... So yeah who else is excited about Iron Man in 3 days?

The movie: Somewhat

The game: It's a moviegame. So no.

I played the demo of the 360 version; it definitely has potential if they've ironed it out. What I played was mediocre, but enjoyable -- more than what's expected of movie license games. (With Spider-Man 2 as the one shining exception; that game was fantastic.)

I'll do what I did with Transformers and Ultimate Spider-man. Rent it now, in two years buy it from the bargain bin if I like it. All movie games generally go down in price fast, so if it's decent i'll pick it up.

Hmm, interesting views here, though I heard that the guy who directed the movie planned for a trilogy, so I think there's gonna be two more along the way.

Haha, PS2. PS3 fails so badly they're putting it on their older console too. Lawl.

Aw c'mon now Ribs, alot of the time the games are just as good if not better than their movie counterparts... I heard people say it's blocky and crap and they've even shown a vid, but I still dont believe it one bit... So what I plan to do is probably rent first to see if they were right or not...

Well, the problem with video games based off of movies or comic books, is that there really will be nothing new in it. You'll know the storyline, you'll know the characters, hey, you should even know how to beat some of the bosses. The games from what I can tell are also severely limited, little to no sandbox area, restricted environments, and most of all, the games tend to be quite short, like beatable in a day or two.

Personally I'd rather see someone by Assassin's Creed than a game like this merely because it has some new ideas and a huge sandbox area for you to just roam. This uhh... doesn't mean you should buy it, the game still sucks.

At any rate, I wouldn't even want to spend the money to *rent* the game, I'd rather put those five or six dollars into buying Microsoft Points to improve awesome games I already have.

In some cases, they are. Take Assassin's Creed. At least for me, I saw the video, saw how casually they talked about "oh I'll just blend in with these monks" or "let's leap into the hay to dodge the guards". It made me think "Wow, if this is what's being released, I can barely begin to imagine what will actually be in the game!" Well, turns out that was it pretty much. Turned out to be a limited and boring game...

Videos or interviews highlighting the scarce gimmicks that a game features are by no means a basis to purchase the game on. What matters is if the standard gameplay itself is entertaining. Notice you hardly ever see videos featuring basic gameplay of a game prior to its release? Take MGS4, for example. Besides the hands-on shakycam footage that is available, all we've seen is cinematic trailers. They don't want to ostricize any potential buyers by showing them something that doesn't appeal to them, so they're giving them a small sample and letting their imaginations run wild with what the rest might entail.

Sadly, in the end, the reality is almost always much less than what you imagine. (i.e., Brawl.)

Well the game and movie came out yesterday... Hopefully I can go rent Iron Man sometime to prove to myself if the game really is crappy or not! Jeez I hope it isn't crappy...

Okay, so now i'm talking from the experience of playing the demo. The controls SUCK, and i'm removing this game from my list. Literally aiming is the most impossible thing to do, even if you're not moving, and the button mapping just doesn't work.

Chill BD, from what I saw it's a bit like the Superman Returns game I've played, so I think, for me at least, the controls should do okay, hopefully... Anyways I saw vids for the PS2 game and they look crappy, I did research and saw PSP vids for the game, same looking graphics, so I think that it was actually a PSP game and NOT a PS2 game, but the only true way for me to be sure is to rent the game... Hopefully I can soon...

Some of you are going to kill me but im buying it just to play in the comic armors like the silver centurion and the hulk buster.

Apperantly the game has been getting real bad reviews like IGN gave it a 3.5.

Didn't like the cutscenes eh? What a dork lol Ah but seriously, a friend of mine is gonna rent the game and bring it to my house so we can check it out together tomorrow, also tomorrow a friend of mine is gonna send me a PSP in the mail. Along with a Memory Stick and charger of course.

I see, well that's dumb. I don't think a person should take the word of another about something like this, I think they should check it out for themselves because if they took the word of another then they wouldn't know if they truly liked something...
