Yup. Definitely the highlight of Nintendo's e3 show. I can't wait for this, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story and Mario Galaxy 2.
I think it's time to grow my super golden beard out in anticipation.
Oh, wow.
They had me at Adam saying "Any objections, lady?". Based on what I read, I was expecting some mindless action game. It looks like it'll be the total opposite, though: a game that'll go beyold the old "here's the planet of a lost civilization. Go gather some rare artifacts" pattern and fill-in some much needed back-story. Some people like that Samus's part is shrouded in mystery, but I'd like to have a bit more meat to that story. There's no need to reveal everything, of course.
As far as I'm concerned, the highlight on Nintendo's part is Super Mario Galaxy 2. I almost shouted "YESS!!" as soon as the name was simply mentioned.

Well, spoken lines, yeah, its the first time. But the first time she's actually said anything in-game was in Metroid Fusion.

PLEASE tell me that metroid will come out on DS. as for golden sun,well...I WILL GET IT(i hope). By the way, i couldn't see it. the dsi doesn't respond well to videos.
There are still some plans for a DS game, although it doesn't look like we'll see anything solid for a while still.

In my opinion Nintendo has been dropping the ball time and time again the last couple of years... I felt that Galaxies was a bit of a failure just because it was so easy in comparison to other Mario games...
This, however, I am very very interested in knowing and seeing more on. I'm still a Nintendo fan at heart, so I'm definitely hoping this is gunna rock it. -crosses fingers-
Easy, Galaxy? Did you only get the first 60 stars or so, by any chance?
If you go for the full roster of 120, this game is at least on the same level as Super Mario 64 as far as difficulty goes. Even more, Miyamoto claimed that Galaxy 2 will be more difficult...

Hey beautiful people, you're better off trying to e-mail me than message me on here.
It looks to me like Samus took some lessons from Ryu Hayabusha. Looks pretty good to me and I'd love to play it.
I still can't believe it...plot.

So I'm certain that many of you have seen the new footage for Metroid: Other M. What are your thoughts on it?
I like the idea behind the controller scheme, even if I'm not wild about the sideways remote method. But the ability to switch between platformer and shooter at will is interesting, especially since it appears the first-person mode retains the Metroid Prime 3 mechanics.
Also, this game is the first game to be set after Super Metroid since Fusion. How cool is that?
It looks pretty impressive, that's for sure. Retro Studios set the bar very high for the quality of the graphics, and I'm glad to see that Team Ninja is set to reach the same level. Having this game set after Super Metroid will be a nice change, as there's a lot to explore in that timeframe.
I'm still not sure if the gameplay will handle itself very well (Wiimote only? really?), but it might just work with all those 2D segments. It'll take me a bit of time to get used to not being in first person view most of the time, but as this game is more focused on action, it will be nice to see the opponents coming from behind you. Besides, you can still go back to first person to shoot massive armies or large targets.
I can't shake the feeling that the release will get delayed... It's coming out too close to Super Mario Galaxy 2!

The only thing that bothers me about this otherwise awesome game is that we know what happens next (Fusion). Aside from retconning things, or explaining details that were foggy before, there's not much it can do to advance the plot. Still, if it does well, I would like to see Metroid V done in the same vein, following Samus facing the galactic tribunal, or running from the law or whatever.
It's nice to see Nintendo publishing something that looks so... cinematic. That's never been their style, so I'm glad to see that they're shaking things up for once.
