The official english name for them are Mettaurs.

Actually, they're Metools in Classic and X, and Mettaurs in Battle Network.

I just call them Mets. Plain and simple, just like what the Mets are.

I always call them Metools or Mets for short.
Way back when I first started playing the Megaman games, I called them "Hard Hats".
