Brook Park Man Dressed As Santa Grabs 12-year-old Parma Girl Walking to School
By Donna J. Miller, Plain Dealer reporter
December 09, 2009, 3:00PM

PARMA, Ohio — A man dressed in a Santa suit grabbed a 12-year-old Parma girl walking to school this morning, police said.
Anthony Russo, 46, of Brook Park, was arrested.
Police say this is what happened about 7:30 a.m. near Snow and Stumph roads:
Russo, in a Santa costume, came out of the bushes and told the girl to come to him. She ignored him and continued walking past a plaza along Snow Road.
Russo followed her and grabbed her arm. She pulled away. Russo grabbed her again. She yanked free again and quickly walked south along the plaza. He continued to follow.
She went into a store and told the owner what had happened. Russo ran off and got on an RTA bus at West 130th Street and Lorain Avenue.
Parma and RTA police found Russo, still wearing the Santa suit, carrying a sack filled with candy canes, a large box of candy canes and a unicycle with bells and decorations on it. He was taken to the Parma jail on suspicion of attempted kidnapping.

Alright, this may not seem like such a big deal to some people, but this actually affected me, haha.
So I was driving to school around 7:28a.m. on the day this happened and my school is literally 30 seconds from where this occurred. So I was on Snow Rd where it intersects with Stumph, and I was at a red light. While sitting there I looked to my right and saw a man in a santa costume. He waved at me, standing rather close to my car. I waved back, smiled, and locked my door, because I don't like when people stand by my car while I'm at a light. Well so I'm watching the news at 6 that same afternoon and saw this on tv, and I was like "wow seriously?"
I look like I'm 12, he could have kidnapped me. D:

And this my friends is why you don't live in the southern part of Cleveland. The only decent place outside of Cleveland, IMO is the western suburbs. The east side is snotty as hell, and the crime rate in the north and south is insane. Hurray for Avon Lake, the whitest town in America!

Seriously though, what's with Cleveland lately. There's the Anthony Sowell stuff (Google it), the Browns winning football games, the snowstorm last night (although no snow day for me...), and according to cleveland.com there's now a sniper on the loose in Berea. Isn't stuff like this talked about in Revelation or something?

Hehe I live in Parma, and well the only thing I have to worry about is the pedophile that lives right across the street from me! (Totally legit, the police told us when my neighbor got a restraining order against the pedophile) Honestly me and my friend got lost around East something street and Harvard, and that had to be one of the scariest moments of my life. Good thing I'll be moving to Bowling Green for college after this school year, I'll live surrounded by corn fields in east Jesus nowhere.

Yeah I heard about all of that on the news, it's crazy. (And I got a snowday, hah!). My friend, in North Olmsted, was looking up pedophile in his neighborhood on that watch dog website, and one of the guys on there is the father of a girl he went to grade school with, har! I didn't think anything bad even happened in that city!

And man I swear, this city gets extremes of every weather conditions. I wouldn't be surprised if some volcanos started forming and we start getting hurricanes.

EDIT: Alright so I just checked the dating on the Berea sniper, I was just driving around Berea the Tuesday after Christmas, and I was actually on the street (Prospect Rd) where he has been shooting. What the heck?!

BG is basically Northern Ohio's version of OU, lots of booze but not much else. Worst that's ever happened to me was the night I was leaving from the Q and got screwed up by my buddy navigating. We ended up following Carnegie all the way through to around Euclid-ish, and it's amazing we didn't get shot.

Oh, and RD, everyone knows that it's time to move when you live in Ohio. It's just a matter of being able to.

Haha, and the worst part is I was on my way to Garfield Heights and actually ended up in that area near Harvard again, but this time by myself. I was sitting there like "seriously? Are you serious right now?"

I also went the wrong way on (I-480 or I-71, I don't remember which), and me and my now ex ended up downtown in University Circle then at the Steelyard about 1:30a.m. Don't ask how, I really don't know why. My sister had to walk me through how to get home over the phone, and this is when I just got my licsense, a fresh new 16 year old haha.

I don't mind Ohio that much, it's actually pretty exciting, and we have Cedar Point!

A friend of mine from Bowling Green was visiting and a creepy guy kept talking to her at the Greyhound station and asked for her cell phone number.
