So today I had a class at 10:45 AM, which I didn't plan on attending since I also had an appointment at 11:30 AM with my study advisor and just taking 30 minutes of a 2-hour class ain't worth it. As such I got on the bus at 10:17 AM to take me to the train station, from where I would go by train to the university (which is right by a train station as well). Hence my surprise when I arrived at the train station, seeing the bus couldn't go on since there was a very bad traffic jam, with a whole line of buses that apparently couldn't get to the train station. I got off the bus, walked towards the train station, and found out the entire area is now off-limits, red-and-white strips all around, police and cameras, the whole shebang.
First thought: oh there's a bomb.
I ask a guy standing there and he tells me he's been standing there since 8 AM, three hours before I got there. He tells me there is indeed the threat of a bomb and the police said it was supposed to be done around 10:30. I eye the ginormous clock on top of the train station and see it is 10:45. I need the train of 10:50.
Second thought: fuck I can't get to my appointment.
So I walk around for the next half hour, hoping it gets solved and maybe I'll be able to get to my appointment a little later. I bump into lotsa tv and radio pplz and get annoyed by a gang of 10-year-old kids who ride around on bicycles going like "OOH MAYBE I WILL GET ON TV". I see a guy on the other side of the red-and-white tape get surrounded by the people with the mikes and cameras and think he's supposed to be with the train company, only to later hear he's the fucking mayor.
Third thought: that's one cool hat, mister mayor.
I get sick of waiting, even though I've gotten used to the cold by this stage, so I walk around some more and find out there's a SUBWAY just a few dozen yards away. (As in the sandwich place, not the underground railroad.) I go there, chat with the girl behind the counter about WHATZHAPPENIN' and order myself a nice sandwich with meatballs, cheese, pickles and tomatoes.
Fourth thought: screw Burger King, Imma come here after class from now on.
Not that I go to Burger King a lot anyway with their prices and healthy foodz. After I am done eating and reading the newspaper there, I go back, see there's still no progress whatsoever, call mom to have her find out the number to the student's desk so I can re-schedule my appointment, and then take the bus home.
Fifth thought: totally productive day. NOT.
Sources: myself.
