You remember the original series Neon Genesis Evangelion that came out 1996? It aired 26 episodes and also had a movie and or TRUE ending release on DVD. The real last 2 episodes.

Now after a few years... its been a while yes... with new technology and a great budget the creator says that this is the way he wanted Evangelion to be!

So is this the true Evangelion and the other is just a shadow? Or is it the other way around? Or do you simply love both of them? Thats for you to decide. I however love this new movie series.

This new Evangelion will be composed of 4 parts, all movies.

The first title is Evangelion 1.0 You are (NOT) Alone
The second title is Evangelion 2.0 You can (NOT) Advance
The third title as of now says Evangelion 3.0 The Quickening
The fourth title as of now says Evangelion 4.0 FINAL

Here is the trailer for the first one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_2jxwRC6sk

The sound track is kick ass, the action is great but it will be taking on a totally different storyline with the exception of a few familiar scenes. I know what you're thinking... "OMG a new story? Thats dumb...." I thought so too but obviously something with this much effort put into the artwork and the graphics must be worth a watch. Also dont expect the same voice actors. Shinjis voice may very well be the only original voice still there.

This is a Funimation production.

Voices I can tell you. Dr. Akagis voice is that of Riza Hawkeye from Fullmetal Alchemist. Kenskes' voice is that of one of the twins from Ouran Highschool Host club. You will recognize some of the others Im sure. Its a very nice watch. Give it a shot you guys.

I was looking through the archives and found no mention of this...

The movie will be available on Blue-ray and DVD.

I've heard about it, but I've never watched the original. Maybe this new version will be my chance to catch-up. :)

You do say that this includes a few familiar scenes while featuring a new storyline. Is it a remake of the original, a side-story, an alternate universe, or simply a full reimagineering?

For nostalgia Im guessing is why they chose to import some of the old scenes from the original anime series. Only this time they're remastered and look like they fit. There are a lot of new scenes that didnt happen though. You'll get it once you watch the original first. I highly suggest you watch the old ones.

New Info! Evangelion 2.0 is going to be released at an earlier date than originally scheduled! It went from Winter this year to March 29th! WHAT A HUGE JUMP!
