YEAHHHHHHHHHH I dunno what to think of this. We were expecting news of a new game by next month, but we got it a bit early and OH BOY no one was expecting it.

Well, that's definitely unexpected. I look at every new Pokémon game announcement out of curiosity, and this has to be the weirdest of the bunch so far.
There's one thing clear enough in my mind: this has Japan-only stamped all over it!

Oh, I'm not ruling it out just yet. As you said, the Pokémon brand has a large appeal, and the anime is still going strong in North America after all these years. I don't think this new game will make the jump, but it's possible.
