Personal attacks are lame, especially in politics, and most notably when they attack something that isn't an actual problem by any stretch.

Now, this comes up: Candidate slammed for World of Warcraft fandom

One woman, running for a seat in the senate, is being attacked by the opposing group for playing as an Orc Assassination Rogue, level 85, in World of Warcraft. How is someone having a fun hobby being any ground for staging an attack for the first place?

Before you know it, when I run for an office of some kind, I'll be accused of being the leader of a group of rogue civil engineers who partake in massive construction and demolition projects without having the appropriate licenses...

That's an interesting way of describing Minecraft.

The thing about her being slammed for playing WoW is ridiculous. The article does bring up a few good points though, but I'm rather doubtful if they're genuinely things that she herself said and did.

I would be more inclined to vote for her following this. SOPA made it all too obvious how few members of the american political classes even use PCs.

I would agree that what people do on their free time is all up to them. Some people read books, create art, or love gardening. She plays videogames. The only thing I would be wondering is how does she portray herself on WoW. Is she a rude/poor player or how many times has she been banned? I wouldn't vote for anyone who acts like that either in public or "private". It's the same reason why I wouldn't vote for someone who reads overly violent horror novels, paints porn, or chase away kids with a shovel.
