He's probably right, just makes sense to include a note about that. And I believe Exodio was indeed here before Minecraft; if not then he has been posting botany in the board since then though it would probably be hard to rake up over 200 posts that way, and my memory is pretty certain he WAS here before as well (even the Minecrat area does not appear to be so frequently posted to, unless there is 1-2 very long topics in there that go beyond notice for non-Minecraft people.)
There also isn't any reason to think anyone "has moved on" - besides certain of the people who have been here, who would have "moved on" to Minecraft or to the other game which had been posted as Doc running a server on more recently. Of course several people will have done that, but as several have also posted before, there is and has been the lack of posts available to respond to for that time. And presumably will continue in perpetuity (excluding those game forums), but that does not necesserily mean no one of some certain human is "not interested", etc.
...And no, it would hardly be "ignorant" to tell someone that a completely random post of meeting up with random users on a completely random message board which is unrelated to traveling or hippiedom, that such a post would be wrong and make so sense. The fact that this user happens to be known another way does not make my reply "stupid", since literally everyone would agree that that is the normal way to respond to anyone posting such a thing if they had not been known. It's merely that my comment didn't happen to be applicable, and that there wasn't any way for me to know that since he hadn't mentioned it.
I once had a best friend that spoke Croatian and who mainly learned English just from the message board. She was nearly perfect at it except that she couldn't get the concept of 'th'. Then I found out she was 13 (when I was an adult and most of the members of that board were 17 or older by the ). I think she died. I wonder if she'd still be friends and still be caring if she hasn't.
I don't think a foreign language will likely be a culprit in this case since it's just about the topics and he was able to read those, but depending on one's age, they may not have experienced much in the way of regular/"community-based" message boards. However, there is also the case that he may be right about the posting location! Personally.. I'd probably put it in Minecraft if it's my only or nearly-only post on a board which has existed for other reasons beforehand and has not made a full-world-board/full-site conversion, but personally I think that either area also makes sense.
