Sony recently decided to no longer make physical media for their PlayStation after 2028.

Happy eBay hunting yall!

I saw the news in the past few days and I've been trying to understand why it was annoying me so much, but I think I figured it out: I see digital-only games as less valuable. Cheaper, in a way.

If Call of Halo: Breath of Warcraft costs me $80, I expect a full experience out of it, including a cart, disc, box, something. Having a digital download is convenient, but I don't give it the same value. I would be much more comfortable with this if the digital-only releases were at least 20% cheaper than the physical editions (no manufacturing costs!), but that's not what (usually) happens.

I still have shelves of classic NES, SNES, N64, ... games. These can't go away, the servers can't get shut down, the hard drive storing them can't fail. It's as close as forever as can be. There's no such thing about digital console games.

With that said, it's different for PC games. They have been digital-only for quite a while now, they're usually cheaper (at least the ones I play) and you can get decent sales if you're willing to wait. The value proposal is much better, and I'm fine with that.

I have a Mega Man collection for My Gameboy Color, and they are the authentic cartridges too! These ARE GOLDEN IN MINT CONDITION AND I AM NOT SELLING THEM. Ty

As for Sony, I still have a dozen PS3, PlayStation, and PSP games beside my PocketStation. I understand why I SWITCHED back over to Nintendo after my SNES and PS3 days.. I'm just happy I still own all the physical media of Ratchet & Clanks for my PS3.

Sony has become one of them "Jerks" who say "You will own nothing and be happy.." while they mooch your money and become wealthy rich greedy evil people who tell people to work for them the rest of their lives.. That's how disgusting I think Sony is.

We all know how Nintenda literally castrated Sony PlayStation with Nintenda Switch and now Sony is seeking revenge by going full digital on yo bums.

I am not a bum and neither are you.

To combat Sony and their Gangsta PlayStation Paradise, first...

  1. Buy a Nintendo Switch you can play on your tv set.
  2. Buy a 1TB Zelda SD card
  3. Buy Physical Media Nintendo Switch Game Cards
  4. Download Overwatch, Ninjala, Rocket League, Apex Legends, and Fall Guys
  5. Download Nintendo Entertainment System, Gameboy, and Super Nintendo Entertainment System with Nintendo Switch Online Membership.
  6. Join ReceiptJar app on your iPhone and get rewarded with Amazon Gift Cards.
  7. Write Video Game Reviews on Facebook of your gameplay.

I'm not sure this needed this many posts in a row. Try to group your ideas a bit!

This is a different situation. Europe passed a law requiring electronics to have user-replaceable batteries whenever possible. The Switch 2 is getting a new model in Europe that will let it do exactly that. Since the Switch 1 is pretty old, Nintendo decided not to bother so they'll take it off the market instead.
