Sides, what\'s wrong with getting roms to try out the game to see if you\'d like it and want to buy it? Saves money, personally. If you buy the game without trying it, you might end up hating it and have to sell it back but you don\'t get all of your money back.
Heck, some stores DO NOT accept opened games.

I can see roms as backup-copies or just to play the games, but don\'t ask me for any. I will not give anything out and mostly likely do NOT have them.

In that case, you need a demo and NOT a ROM.

That\'s pretty hard for Gamecube and GBA\'s because Nintendo don\'t do demo\'s in U.K I\'m not sure about other places.

We tend to buy the game anyway and if we don\'t like it, we give it away!

Yes but the problem with games magazines is that they may not have the same tastes as you.

I have no problem with someone firing up a rom of a game from the 8 or 16 bit era...Unless its still available...or has been rereleased on a more recent game system.
Playing roms for systems like the gameboy advance is bad...Playing new games for free? I don\'t think so...That just is\'nt right and it hurts the game indrustry...(don\'t try to lie! you know it does!)
But i don\'t see how playing the NES battletoads game hurts anybody...Is\'nt the developer who made that game gone anyway?

You can still find them in a cash converters shop. Its ok to have ROMs for games that ain\'t on sale anymore because theres no money being lost.

I don\'t see a problem with having ROMS for games that are no longer being made, or for systems that dead as long as there is no money being paid for them. There could be a problem though if the game is re-released on a new system.

I think you are allowed to have ROMs in the US as long as you own the original cartridge/CD of the game that the company released.

I am against people getting the ROMs for new games and not getting the actual game itself. Video game companies work hard (most of the time) to come up with and produce the games. Taking a ROM of a new game is like stealing from the people who made it.

Personally I think it\'s a good idea that no ROMs are on this board, there\'s enough places to find them on internet anyways.
