Too bad that I have a dutch last name but I cannot speak it. It\'d be cool to be able to speak dutch. :(

What I tried to say: Say, remember what Doc said? Translators are LAME. Oh well....

This is gonna be abused, I know it.

In Dutch:
Zeg, herinneren wat doc. zei? De vertalers zijn lame. Oh goed...

Dit is gonna wordt misbruikt, ken ik het.

^ Translated to English:
Say, remind to what doc. said? The translators are lame. Oh well...

This is gonna is abused, knows I it.

0.o.......I think that these translators suck ass.[/font]

Reality swirled in a wholly blue manner, revealing absolutely nothing of merit. Things flashed madly in and out of existence like some entirely other sort of phenomena. On a whim, Kurt Vonnegut imploded, taking a sizeable hunk of Massachusetts with him. However, seeing as Massachusetts wasn't entirely sure it existed, the chunk wasn't all that big.

Een andere dicht-gelete op dwaas die gelooft dat wij niet in het Nederlands zouden moeten mogen spreken omdat wij echt niet de taal kennen!

(Besides, Translators are good for some things. If you are sent a letter in French, but don\'t know how to speak it...

^ You may try translate this to your own language and see if you can understand what I\'m saying.

I could try to explain how the \"ij\"-part in your last name should be pronounced, but I\'ve seen that there are many issues coming across which would make it a very hard thing to do.

Don\'t you think the \"i\" in \"dike\" comes close enough to the pronuncation of \"ij\"?

That would of course imply that your last name got changed so it would be easier to spell or pronounce in the English orientated environment...

It did.

My ancestor, Stephen Henry and his brother came over to America in maybe 1700\'s (He was born in 1690\'s)

Looking at the family tree poster that I made in middle school, the change occured in... mid 1700\'s? o_o Guess that it didn\'t take that long for that to happen! >>

The same kind of deal happened with my grandmother\'s cousins have moved to Canada. They got their last name \"Rijfers\" changed into \"Rivers\".

Such namechanges would rarely happen in my neighbourhood, because we have more pronouncement variations in our language. Though, people sometimes are hearing my last name as \"Versteeg\" or \"van Spijk\" since my last name is Belgian.

The English language is so running short on thongs er... diphthongs.

Voordat we het jaar gaan omwisselen wil ik jullie nog laten zien hoe de grammaticale structuur van het Nederlands er ongeveer uitziet in het Engels.

Translated literally from Dutch:

Before we the year going exchange want I you still let show how the grammatical structure of the Dutch there approximately looks in the English.

^ There\'s your little impression of the Dutch grammatical structure. :D
