In this topic, we will discus our tactics for fixing those arragant scratches. Yes, they have put me down a few times in FFVII, lets say... THE WHOLE DAMN DISK 2!!! Anyways, I fixed with two very unlikely ways.
1): The toothpaste method
How?: Squirt a lil bit on worst degree of scratches. Make sure the toothpaste has no flavor, isn\'t a gel, and don\'t have that beady crap in it.
2): The freezer method
How?: Shortly after using toothpaste(make sure you wipe toothpaste off!!!), freeze the CD for around 3~18 minutes. Too long, it might mess it up.

Post anything that will help in future problems.

I\'ve heard of using toothpaste for getting out scratches in glass before, but a CD...?

0.o;

If my CD skips on me, I open the case and spin it. It usually goes about right as rain after that. Hell, it worked for RE2.....

Reality swirled in a wholly blue manner, revealing absolutely nothing of merit. Things flashed madly in and out of existence like some entirely other sort of phenomena. On a whim, Kurt Vonnegut imploded, taking a sizeable hunk of Massachusetts with him. However, seeing as Massachusetts wasn't entirely sure it existed, the chunk wasn't all that big.

I try to take good care of my games to avoid this stuff altogether, but on occasion I\'ll get a rental or borrow one from a freind that gives me a hard time. I\'d really like one of those Game Dr thingies (EB even uses \'em on all their used games) but they cost 30 friggin bucks.

Of course, there\'s always the cheaper alternative. You can pick up a CD scratch repair kit from Radio Shack at a much more resonable price. Problem is, you do it all by hand, so it\'s virtually useless for those deep scratches. It seems to work rather well on the light surface scratches tho.

I\'ll have to try that toothpaste thing...

Yeah,well. That kinda hard for a friggen PS2. I\'ve also heard that City Market will fix any CD, music, dvd, game, for $5.00.

WARNING! DO NOT USE THE FREEZER METHOD! It is not required for your Multi-CD games. All you do is use another disk to load your game (i.e disk 3 in FF7) and pop in the disk your tryna load your game with. It may take a few trys, but it is worth it. it saved me loads of time, AND money in that matter.
