Dunno what\'s an oxymoron?

Example: Lamentable comedy.

Putting two opposites together. Sometimes they make poems sound good. SOMETIMES.
I said that alliteration is good! Irony is also a good tool! Here\'s a small ironic poem to show you:

There once was on old man,
Poor man, grey,
Although he was nice
They called him gay.
They stole his stuff,
Broke his CD rack
When he won the lottery,
He had a heart attack.

Alliteration is where you write a sentence or phrase/clause with each word begginning with the same letter. A prime example would be something like \'The slimey snake slithered along\'. Of course, snakes aren\'t slimey, but it adds somewhat more deapth to the poem Try saying that solowly and it\'ll work best.

The sssssssslimey sssssssssnake ssssssslithered itssssssss way to itssssss prey!

It even rhymes!

My alliteration:
Devil, double, dribble.

Yeah sucks don\'t it?

Allusions are kinda weak since they refer to others.

I know what these things are. My damn ELA teacher won\'t stop blabbing at me about it. I have completely crammed in my head and more. >.<

My friend is the grim reaper
I help him in his quest.
To do the job of the reaper
And to kill the best.

Much more to go before we can find
The One he searched for
His idea is to grind
Everyone who’s poor

I like that idea
I carry it through
Oh ho! I like that idea
The night, you will not live through.

We search the silence of the slimey night
You wanderers beware.
You will get such a fright
You’ll jump 50 foot into the air!!!!

I suck at titles so I\'m gonna give this one.

Look at a person
What do you see?
All but the inner being
Never shall you see the inner being
It may be dark
It may bright
It may even be joy
Inside is not to be seen
Till our light together is green
Once you do see it
What will it be?
Will you two still be one?
Or fall apart? :P
For you can\'t tell, touch or tempt
The soul of one

:P Not very good I say. Needs something.... *smacks head* God damn school is giving too much work....

EDITS: God damn typos... <_<

Out of reach
Beyond my grasp
Will something always be.

If I get there,
Will I still want it?
I really don\'t know.

Many times before,
Something outside my grasp
Would catch my eye and hold it.

If I reached this thing,
Many times I wouldn\'t want it
And I would lose my drive.

What is it that I really want?
What do I really need?
Only one thing has comforted me,
In this long and seemingly pointless road.

Him, right by my side.

Here\'s a shorter one.

Untitled 6

How do you know that death is such a bad thing?
Have you experienced it? It could be bling.
You know, the reaper, he’s just doin’ his job
Reaping his corn, reap the Irish Cob.
Who says the reaper is such a bad thing?
I reckon his job is so incredibly bling.

This one is a little longer, and this is not my usual style, I just wrote one about my least favourite animal. Try to guess what it is.

7

I do not own or like this thing
That always eats the birds that sing.
It chews them up into a bloody pulp
And scoffs them down in one big gulp.

How evil, in this modern day.
To kill such creatures -- merry and gay.
To kill a creature but to no advantage
There is no point, but it still happens in this age.

And what should be the god to counter this Satan?
No-one but the digs who get so severely beaten.
I think we should begin to appreciate them more
For if they could, they’d help the poor.

They help us in our times of need.
They always are a friend indeed.
And if your really haven’t had the pleasure,
Then you really need a dog forever.

But let us not forget the reason
We have to love this chaser of treason.
They chase the disturbers of peace
That is, unless, the dog’s obese.

And I can think of 1000 words.
Why not to like the killer of birds.
Does it really need to kill to survive?
The answer to that is no, humans give it the food to live.

But these evil monsters, some people love
Would do anything to kill a stupid dove.
Also soon as he kills it, he starts to get bored,
He leaves its carcass lying on the floor.

A dog, on the other hand, would spare the bird.
He would chase the monster, the second and the third.
However, this evil monster is loved by thousands.
They do not see that for their ignorance, other creatures get a pounding.

And any animal rights person, who may read this in disgust,
I think you\'ll find they deserve their lust.
Think not only of the rights of the monsters, like so many others do,
But what of the rights of the creatures they kill and of the accidental doggie doo.

However, you know, this monster is bold.
Yet many dogs have many folds.
You want to know the moral of this?
Ignorance is about as useful as a cyst.

Eh, that\'s real cool Airman. I bet if he was payed, the Grim reaper would make a ton of cash. Who else would want to drag tourmented souls to a wretched barren end?

I bet half of you just raised your hands.

Waiting

we all wait
for things unknown
to get 2 somewhere
to get to kno someone
we wait in line
we wait to die
we wait to laugh
we wait to cry
we all wait for something
for reasons we cannot understand
we wait forever
we wait to die,to be buried in the land.

~The Winter~

The winter is the silence,

the laying of the barren

When the trees shed their bearings,

and time finds solace.

This is how I see the white,

when all is serene
and life finds the sunless sky.

But in our homes,
we are blessed with kin,
celebrating all that is winter.

The Cold may come,
But the Warmth will stay.

A Solemn Poem about Christmas

My favourite time of year, this is.
When all the warmth goes home.
This is a time I’ll always cherish
With or without the atom bomb.

All of nature goes to sleep,
But I come out to play.
All to sculpture the white, white deep
Snow until the end of the day.

That is, in fact, if the snow will get here
I’ve been waiting all my life,
For one single white Christmas year
In the deep snow, I want to dive!

But who am I kidding?
The snow won’t snow here.
For all the snow people are digging,
I just need a blizzard near!

But snows at Christmas, it does not,
It’s the price of the countryside.
To live inland just goes to pot.
But the rules I must abide.

Wow. My poems suck compared to you guys poems. But here is one of mine. I\'ve had a spell of writers block lately, thats what this is about.

I cannot write
My mind used to be a fountain of creativity
I cannot write
The ideas used to come so easily
I cannot write
My mind is blocked by judgment

Purpose
What is purpose?
Why is it needed?
Both admirable questions
We all strive
To answer them
And rarely do we succeed
And yet, we try
while knowing
that we can never
answer such questions
But then, what
point is there?
But to give up and live
our lives to fullest
forgetting the common goal that every human strives for
and yet we try
while knowing
that we can never
attain such triumphs

No, I can\'t say that it does. But it is abstract. And you get mondo bonus points for that!!!

I think Mine is all right...I through it together in about 5 min at the point of creation...

Yeah.

Anyway, MMC, my advice is to use better grammar, and to give your poems some form of purpose. Get a point across.
