Very good question. Yes, i sometimes think i can relate to Harry eventhough i have both my parents still and my fav character is Hermione/Dumbledore. I have a special pencil that i saved as my wand(not that i use it or pretend or anything) and a lot of HP stuff. Oh, warning if you buy everyflavor beans be careful. There REALLY is every flavor, i had a box.:D

My dad is a fan of the Harry Potter series. He had one comment that made a lot of sense. He just finished the fifth book and was thinking of a battle between the aurors and the death eaters. He thinks that some of the aurors should train with muggle weapons. That way, if a big battle came up, some aurors could be blocking the magic and stunning, while the gun equipped aurors could dispatch the death eaters. What do you guys think?

Read the book long ago in the summer in 4 or 5 days. I\'m not a big fan or a small one. I got one game about HP and I\'ve seen both of the movies, and read all the books.

Fav character: I guess... Voldemort! I think he is good because he is the testament to all evil. He is has power but, thinks first before killing. How else would he have been revived if he didn\'t plan it first?

Fav moment is from the Chamber of Secrets: I like the fact that JK Rowling didn\'t make Harry invincible. She almost murdered him but, then Fawkes came swooping in to save him.

Moment of most regret: I brought it to school in my backpack next to a banana I was going to have for lunch and the fruit burst all over the Goblet of Fire.

There\'s all that you need to know about me and HP.

Voldemort doesn\'t think before killing. Unless he thinks it\'s in his best interest not to kill, he\'ll kill.

Hmmm... didn\'t think about that. However, he killed his family and he didn\'t have to do that.

I hope im not bumping, I was searching and i didnt feel like looking. Now, on topic, listen I am catholic and some of the extremists say it is blasphemy, but it\'s a fantasy book. Saying that it is blasphemy is saying that Lord of the Rings is blasphemy, that the Chronicles of Narnia is blasphemy, and that many other great books are blasphemy. So please remember that as long as you don\'t acctually practice witchcraft, it\'s just a good story. And remember, God has a sense of humor too.

Duuur...

Witchcraft is not what the bible says it to be! (It\'s more like, dealing with nature. Not being evil.)

It\'s a religion like Christianity. :P

Still, my point remains the same, all it is is a book. Just think of the spells they use, the words are obviously made up of words in latin that describe what the spell does.

What influence? It\'s just fiction, Burrito. :P

But... if you think something can influence you and you\'re afraid of it. It means that you\'re not a secure person. If you\'re confident that it won\'t influence you, that means you\'re strong.

Duuur. Anyway, I want the sixth book now. ;_;

...and the third movie is looking to be really exciting. ^^;

Well put Kia. If you are influenced to do magic by harry potter you must be severely detached from reality.

Harry Potter is Frodo! Haven\'t you seen the similarities between TLOTR and HP?

Harry=Frodo
Dobby=Smeagol
Deatheater=Ringwraiths
Aragog=Shelob (name comes from Aragorn)
Dumbledor-Gandalf the White
Hermiony and Ron=Merry and Pippin
The Dark Lord (Voldemort)=The Dark Lord (Sauron)

I think I\'ve listed enough.

I\'m not saying it\'s not good, it\'s alright, in fact, I\'m just saying you can\'t compare the two as HP is a slight variation of TLOTR.

What similiarity? Harry doesn\'t have a ring. o_o

The story are only same in the nature of: Good vs Evil.

However, LOTR doesn\'t quite seem to be light-hearted. HP went from light hearted to dark. People are starting to die. Whereas in LOTR, people have already died and are still dying...

These are two different British writers! x_x

J.R.R Tolkien was a professor of Oxford (and was friends with C.S. Lewis, author of the Chronicles of Narnia) and J.K. Rawling...?

Sirius Black=Boromir

Spoiler (click to toggle)
Both die to save the main characters at the end of a book/volume.
