R.D. moved towards the back, hopping up so he was on top of the vehicle's engines, and drew his Phase Blades. Alasea quickly ran towards the helm and started piloting the boat.

"C'mon, you fucker, show yourself," R.D. growled quietly to himself.

All was quiet except for the roar of the engines, and then it came. The beast surged up towards the surface and shot out of the water, as if it were reaching for the skies. It looked like a giant komodo dragon, with strange frills on the side of its head, and its claws had webbed fingers. The monster easily dwarfed the boat; it was at least the size of a cruise ship and its head could swallow their vehicle whole.

"Well, that's not good," R.D. muttered as he siezed the First Cipher energy.

"Die, you BASTARD!" Hugo pointed his pickaxe at the great beast. "Lightning Shotgun!"

He rolled backwards as the shot was launched-a crackling sphere of lightning arcing at the monster.

The lightning orb struck the beast and spread across its shoulder, but the beast seemed to shrug it off. It started swimming closer, moving to the side of the boat. The automated weapons activated and began firing at the beast.

R.D. charged up a pair of plamsa shots and threw them at the beast. "Hit it with the strongest attacks!" R.D. shouted.

"What did you think I just did?!" Hugo shouted, charging electricity.

"He means THIS!" Matt threw his palms foward at the serpent. "Megaton Cannon!" he called, firing the trademark beam of destructive energy.

*DragonFire walks upto Juno*

DragonFire: I hope you have a good training room... I need something to do up untill my big fight....

Dark Dragon: Yeah man... We need it for our fight, which may I remind you that it will only be me and my master fight our enemy and not you or anyone else....

The Megaton Cannon blasted up walls of water around it as it tore straight at the beast. It scored its shoulder, burning a groove along the shoulder and back, causing the monster to bellow in pain and anger.

However, the kickback of the attack caused the boat to tilt slightly, aiming the beam into the air and preventing it from doing more damage. The monster dove back under the water and followed after the boat.

R.D. looked around, searching for the beast, when it appeared again, its head behind the boat, following. Its eyes were darting to each present person.

Satisfied that the Cannon did what it needed to do, Matt took an open stance. "I'm gonna Drive and lead it away from here! You guys get out, I'll follow ya!"

"You sure that's a good idea?" Hugo asked.

Matt grinned, clenching his fist. "I feel like kicking some giant ass!"

"I'm not sure if it's going to follow you, Matt!" R.D. shouted as he fired off a pair of plasma shots. They bounced off the beast's scaly forehead, and it growled, staring at him. "It's me they're after!"

The beast continued chasing their boat, using powerful strokes of its enormous tail to keep up. R.D. concentrated and fired off another pair of plasma shots. One struck the beast across the snout and did nothing, but the other shot slammed into the creature's eye. The monster unleashed a shrill, undulating cry that made everyone wince, and submerged itself again.

"Dammit!" R.D. shouted, growing angry, "Stay and fight!"

Alasea started screaming. R.D. whipped around, and nearly fell over. The beast had surfaced again--way off in front of the boat, and its jaws were open wide.

Alasea started pressing buttons frantically. The automated guns came to life, peppering the beast with gunfire. Also, the triple missile launcher activated and fired a missile, which streaked into the monster's mouth and exploded. The beast let out another cry and submerged again, letting the boat fly past it. R.D.'s eyes widened in surprise. "Aim for the eyes and when it's mouth is open!" he shouted to his friends.

The group's gunship blasted by a small boat that seemed to have been left in the ocean. R.D. saw that there was a body on it, and felt some strange energy emanating from it, but paid it no mind; after all, there was a giant fucking lizard after them. The monster also passed by the boat, leaving it unharmed.

Kalmar awoke with a start as a rather large boat flew by his own. He felt a power on that boat, That must be my new trophy, he thought as the boat rocketed off into the distance. Suddenly a large creature clipped his boat, rocking it violently. He lost his footing and plunged into the water.

Great, he thought as he heaved himself up with a sigh, nothing better then being dunked in the ocean by a fuckin oversized goldfish.

He sighed again, turning the wheel and punching the throttle up, the propeller biting into the waves of said passing goldfish.

"C'mon child, I will find you! And if need be, I will go through that damned thing to get to you!" he screamed at the turbulent ocean waves.

He clenched his hands on the steering wheel, staring ahead of the boat as ocean spray spashed him in the face.

"You will learn the meaning of pain..." he trailed off, looking down at his soaked clothes.

*he turns to Juno*

DragonFire: When it comes to fighting, I do not allow anyone to interfere, not even friends... You leave our battle to us and no one else, got that... We do our fight our way, no one elses.... Got it?

"Dragon Drive!"

Matt yelled loudly as the burning aura flared around him, changing shape into a draconic appearance with the familiar energy wings and horns. His power and rage apparent in his roar, Matt leap to the sky, and, energy trailing behind him, he flew into the water.

Matt surged through the ocean until he saw the great monster, and drew back his fist, charged with power. He swam in front of the monster, and with a silent, violet cry, he launched a uppercut, parting the water about him from the sheer force of the blow. If it landed it would take the monster above the water-hopefully in a position where they could attack its mouth.

Matt's blow struck true, and the beast was sent above the water--barely. It did, however, become stunned, and its swimming slowed. R.D. took the chance and readied a pair of plasma shots and threw them. "Aim for the eye, Hugo!" he shouted to the Met.

"F*** YOU!" Hugo shouted at the monster, firing a powerful lightning blast at the monster's eye, sliding the Mettaur backwards a bit.

Kalmar saw someone dive beneath the water, and a few moments later the goldfish emerged slightly.

He throttled down, not wanting to confront his quarry with these.. distractions.

He spat into the water, watching the battle unfold before him, and smiled.

"Soon, I will have your head.. Rising Dragon." The statement bounced off the water, but was quickly drowned out by the loud hum of the engine.

The machine sputtered a few times, and died. Kalmar simply looked back, moving his hand towards the engine and concentrated. A large quantity of water came up from the surrounding water, but quickly condensed into a pale amber color, reducing in size. The cap to the engine's fuel tank twisted off and hovered as the fluid filled the tank.

The engine roared back to life as Kalmar once again started and sped off towards his prey.

Morph didn't check if the other two were following him, too focused on his goal: the last Soul Piece. Well... according to the compass it was the last one... right?

While R.D.'s plasma bursts missed the beast's weakspot, Hugo's shot was dead on, and the beast screeched in pain and surged forward as if to ram the ship. It was the group's quick screaming that warned Alasea to swerve the boat to the side. The beast snapped at the boat but missed, and R.D. slammed another shot into the creature's eye.

It unleashed another screech and thrashed about, roaring furiously.

"NOW, MATT!!" R.D. shouted at Matt.

Morph glanced over his shoulder, now seeing the others following him. He smirked. Slowly. When he looked back in front of him, he suddenly saw a large black building coming up in front him, much like a human, no, giant-made building-mountain. He had to slow down not to crash into it, because they were already pretty close to it. It was hardly visible due to it's dark colour.

The redheaded woman finally made a boat out of skeletons, stepping lightly onto the contraption and set out after her lover.

Two massive bone fish suddenly swam beside her, apparently podyguads for this evil woman.

"Come now, I require blood my pets."

----With Kalmar----

Kalmar chuckled, seeing the sky light up and hearing the creature's screech of pain.

"Stupid goldfish," he chuckled to himself.

Matt's engulfed form exploded from the water, just as the great beast screeched in pain. He quickly flew in front of the monster's mouth, gathering power. "Megaton..."

He threw his hands fowards, his legs rising up to align with his arms from the power of the motion. "CANNON!"

Powered by the Dragon Drive, this Megaton Cannon was stronger than before, and it carved a path through the air and at ther creature's vulnerable inside.

*DF chuckles*

DragonFire: Juno, Juno, Juno... You have no idea.. do you? Of course not... How could you... but when the time comes, I will set an impenetrable barrier around me, Dark Dragon, and the one we fight... In my fights I do things my way... Gte in my way and you will pay Juno... Friend or not... *his eyes glows brightly a blood red color* I swear I will make you pay if you or anyone else interferes with our battle...

The empowered Megaton Cannon blasted inside the beast's mouth, scorching the inside. The monster's eyes opened in shock, and it released a terrible cry that made everyone wince. The beast sank underwater slowly, then finally shot upwards, opening its mouth, which was now aglow with energy. It spit out an orb of lightning that went up a ways and exploded, releasing a disruption wave of electricity everywhere. The boat the others were on suddenly stalled and died, standing still in the water.

With that, the beast sank and swam off, disappearing beneath the waves to tend to its wounds.

"Well, we didn't kill it, but it's leaving," R.D. muttered. He looked around and watched Alasea exit the vehicle.

"We're stuck here, guys," she said, "But the boat's fine, it's trying to repair itself or something.

R.D. nodded and sat down atop the deactivated engines. "Today just sucks, doesn't it?"

Landing on the deck and dismissing his Drive, Matt shook his fist at the fleeing creature. "I'LL GET YOU NEXT TIME, GADGET!" he shouted.

"What are you talking about?" Mei-ling asked, as she and Hsien-Ko approached the group.

"Nothing." Matt faced the others. "All right, people, we've got several parties chasing after us. I feel we need a more solid plan as to what we're gonna do next."

"First would be to get the hell out of the ocean," R.D. said, rubbing the back of his neck, "Then we should probably join up with one of these resistance groups that we've been hearing about. The more fortified, the better, too."

R.D. got up and got back on a more stable base as the vehicle's engines started warming up. He went inside the helm and with the use of the advanced GPS, found that there was a port city nearby. Alasea and Hsien-Ko started up for it, and R.D. went back inside. "I think this adventure of ours is going to keep me the hell away from water," he said to Matt.

"Agreed."

His mind wasn't here at the present moment, though-it dwelled elsewhere. Why had the dragon power left, then returned again? Something was up.

If only he knew dragon talk.

R.D. sighed and thought about his apparent title: Rising Dragon. He was still confused why when he thought of a name, it was the only thing that came to mind. And he was also confused about how everyone seemed to know his name.

He looked out over the ocean, seemingly peaceful. He knew better, though, with sea serpents and whatever Re-Tuul had sent after them roaming in it. He sighed; he hoped they'd reach land soon.

The boat blasted out across the water, and it wasn't long before they reached the port city.

The redheaded woman's vessel slowly made it's way through the churning sea, a blue line pointing towards her lover.

"Soon," she muttered to her servents, watching the line grouw brighter, "you will taste my magic."

----With Kalmar----

Kalmar slowed his boat considerably, seeing the lightning orb diffusing and watching his prey's boat slow to a stop. The goldfish swam away, and for a moment he considered going after it. No, he thought absently, there are bigger fish to fry.

His mind wandered back to his past as he waited for the other's boat to start. As usual his thoughts turned towards an evil figure with red hair.

If you ever leave me, she had said with that evil little grin on her face, I will find you. No matter where you run.

He shivered at the thought, hoping that she was just on one of her tantrums. Though he was hopeful, deep in his 'soul' he knew she was serious.

"Once I kill you, Rising Dragon," he said bitterly as the thought of his ex-lover ran through his thoughts, "I will finally be free of all that binds me." With that, his prey's boat started again and he resumed pursuit of the boy.
