R.D. frowned. He didn't like going up against an enemy no one knew anything about. It was a recipe for disaster, two all-powerful superweapons or not.

They ate their meals in silence. Once she finished, Alasea yawned. "Well, I'm beat," she said.

(OOC: Y'know, I just got a devious plan cookin'. XP)

"Un." Meta said, faking a relieved tone really well. "Thank you." She said to Juno, before lifting up her sword to slay another lightning hawk above the two of them.

R.D. jumped in his seat at the sound of Vagabond's shout. The amnesiac teen pulled the jewel out of his pocket, despite the stares of the natives, and said, "What!? What's so damn important you had to scare the hell out of me?!"

"You wanna calm down?" Matt asked. "You're freakin' everyone out." He looked to a startled Lady Lima, and said, "Personal call."

"Take this!" Blane yelled as he blasted the bats with a bright beam that came from his staff. The bats flew away scared.

"We're somewhere in the Mushroom Kingdom, I believe it's called," R.D. explained, "And we're fine for the moment. Although Alli's still kinda pissed that Matt called her a blonde."

R.D. sat back and looked into the jewel. "What about you? What's happening on the home front?"

"Have fun with that," R.D. said, "This world seems nonsensical, but something tells me our current enemy is going to be anything but. Take care over there."

And with that, he put the jewel back in his pocket. R.D. looked back up at the natives.

"Uh... heh."

"Personal call," Matt repeated.

Just then a servant entered, standing at the doorway and bowing. "Lady Lima, I bring news from Prince Peasley."

She nodded. "Speak."

The servant stood straight again. "The town has suffered considerable structural damage, but our troops were able to root out the invaders with minimal casualties. Also, we've just recieved word that Princess Peach's plane has landed at Beanbean International Airport."

"Well, let's go out there and get her," Hugo suggested, finally talking about something he could do. "I mean, if that witch is flyin' around, we gotta make sure she can't get Peach."

R.D. got up and pulled one of his Phase Blades from its sheathe. "Well, here we go again," he muttered as he prepared to leave.

Meta lunged at a group of lightning hawks, slashing at least 5 of them to the next world with two diagonal strikes, before attacking a sixth with a powerful thrusting move.

Meanwhile, Gilgamesh was busy with a little fight of his own, employing a lance to attack the surrounding enemies. A big heap of them already lay at his feet.

"Flight." The man nodded his head down to listen. "Something flying directly overhead, coming from north-east, sounds like." He had thought for a moment. This wasn't a normal bird's wings, at all. "While I seriously doubt it, it couldn't hurt to check, I would suppose." He turned in the direction he heard the sound originally came from, and began running. As much as he disliked the idea, he needed people for assistance. Being blind had it's disadvantages after all, like not knowing wheere the hell you are most of the time.

Blazen fell down to a knee panting heavily. He coughed a few times, all the battles he's been through and all the energy he's used took more out of him than it seemed. He wipped his mouth and stood up again. He slowly trugged his way to the house, showing heavy fatique. After trying to ignore the fact he was more tired than he looked, it took more out of him than it needed to.

The group was escorted to a simple green car near the back of the castle. Beanbean International Airport wasn't too far, but they still had to hurry anyway.

"Shotgun," Matt said, opening the door to the passenger seat up front of the car. "Now...did everyone go to the bathroom?"

"Shut up, Matt," Hugo said.

"I'm just asking."

"Stop being an idiot," R.D. muttered as he and Alasea entered the car.

They drove out of the city and began heading toward Beanbean International Airport. They had quite a chance to study the world they were in now-despite differing creatures, some of the nature around them was recognizable.

"I'm from a pretty different place," Matt said in response to Luigi's question. He seemed distant. "Got wrapped up in some crazy crap." Hw glanced at the others in the car. "So I got me this motley crew, and we've been goin' place to place."

R.D. chuckled. Ain't that the truth. A teen boy carrying a device that can alter reality, another teen boy with amnesia and a superweapon inside him, a teen girl who lost her parents and is some sort of warrior priestess, another girl who can become a dragon when stressed, and a foul-mouth robot. What a team.

Meta made an expression of disgust appear on her face when she saw what Dokuro had done to assist her. "Nice of you to assist me, but I prefer live people with me, okay?" She said to him, as she swung her mighty zweihänder once more to slay a lightning hawk. Deciding that it went too slow for her, she put the blade away and took out a pair of katanas, which she then started to use to rapidly slash away at the incoming attackers.

Voices haddrifted to his ears now. Exactly what he had wanted, but it also pained him. "Lightning hawks? Well DAMN, guess I found the wrong people, then..." he uttered to himself. Fighting his way to a greeting didn't exactly sound like a good idea. He thought for a moment, and shrugged it off. He was still a good distance away, but close enough to hear the hawk's movements. He slung the large blaster from his back, and positioned it where he could hear his target, and shot, unsure if he ahd hit it or not.

"Do you need a hand kid?" Blane asked Blazen as he watched him struggle.

Blazen looked back to Blane, though unaware of this man, he could trust him. He did just defend Blazen and Kalmar against the bats, but he shook his head. "I'll make it." He said. "Barely." He mumbled as he continued.

Over a rise they saw it in the near distance-the sprawling airstrip of Beanbean International Airport laid before them, with many small green bean people hustling about, some passengers eager to fly, some in deep blue uniforms managing the works. Along the long concrete, several large jets were parked, with one already loading with passengers.

The car drove up past other beans entering their own rental cars, coming to a stop near the automated doors. "Princess Peach should be inside," the driver explained.

"Thanks," Matt said, picking up Hugo and setting him back down when he was out of the car.

R.D. and Alasea exited the car. "Hey, Matt," he said to the other guy in the team, "Am I the only one here who thinks something is going to go wrong?"

"That's called paranoia, son," Matt remarked, tapping his temple. "Always rely on it. So always be ready to rock."

Mario agreed-he also felt something was going to happen. This elicited Luigi to make a quick prayer that nothing too intense would be coming up soon.

The group pushed their way into the busy airport, doing their best to keep together amid the tiny people and luggage. Matt glanced around, trying to find people as tall as they were, and also glancing toward the windows in anticipation.

Meta looked at Derek suspiciously, before glancing at Kouken and Juno, and then turning to Derek again. "Sure thing, I suppose." She said, after which she sliced one last hawk away, before putting away the blades she carried.

"Gilgamesh, to me!" She cried out. The bodyguard turned and nodded, before coming running over to her and holding a rather small, round, wooden shield in front of her.

"You must be kidding." Meta said, looking frantically between the shield and Gilgamesh.

"'fraid not, milady." Was his reply, as he braced for impact.

No response from the group fighting the hawks.

'Guess a large shot of plasma flying through the air is nothing new to them...' he throught to himself. The hawk, however, did go down with his blast. Next target was already locked.
